What is this?
A list of some of the most awesome resources to be found on BlackHatWorld.

Why?
There is so much value to BHW. A wealth of information. And yet it can sometimes be difficult to find the real gems.

I’ve been a lurker on here for years and only recently become more active in posting myself. Despite that, I still regularly see old threads revived that I have never read before, which help to improve my own knowledge and understanding.

How often do new members post asking for help on where to start? How often do we have to tell people to use the search function? Wouldn’t it be easier to just give them a link to a single thread where all the most amazing posts on the forum, from a variety of topics, are collated together?

I don’t know whether this has been tried before. I accept that it doesn’t offer anything new, but it might help some users to discover, or rediscover a real gem that helps them kickstart their efforts.

Some of the threads in this list were easy to find – they are the awesome ones that are pinned at the top of most sub forums. Others have been the result of excessive use of the search button, so that you don’t have to!

I have done my best to only add up to date information in this post. If it is still relevant today, it can go here. Otherwise, no matter how useful it might once have been, it’s not much good anymore.

Although I am starting this thread and will be endeavouring to update it myself regularly, I’m hoping that others will contribute with categories and threads that I have not covered. If you have either, then post here and I will update this post to include it. I’m not suggesting just one thread for each topic or category – but anything that offers new or good advice is welcome.

I hope that this can serve as a really good starting point for new and old members alike. Massive thanks to all the original posters of, and contributors to these threads.

Yes, I accept that a lot that will end up on here will be subjective. However, we have a 'thanks' system on the forum which lets me determine posts that others found useful, not just myself. It may not be a perfect way to judge, but it helps.
I'm not suggesting that this is a definitive or exhaustive list. It's just a decent place to start in my opinion. Anyone can choose to read through these threads or ignore me entirely - it's nothing to do with control.

There are tons more useful threads on the forums, but there are also a lot of shit posts, so no, I will not end up with the whole forum on here.

I agree. Most of these I have picked out because the original post is pretty substantial and useful in its own right, but there are definitely others that can/will be added that have useful discussion throughout the thread also.

well i wasn't critical, just pointing out that it is a list based entirely around your own opinion. There are good, worthwhile threads that have good info but not hundreds of likes, so that thread would fail your list.
