I remember when I first got JR VIP and put the little tag under my username of 'Working my A** Off'. I first got some PM's asking why I had it. Then I started helping people in threads and got the occasional reply of 'now I know why you have that as your title!' Every couple weeks I get a PM stating, to the effect, 'man, you really do work your a** off.'

I decided to make a thread with personal examples explaining why someone like myself can make money from the same method you are failing with.

    1. We Both learned EVERYTHING we know from BHW

Yup. It is a fact. 90% of what I know comes from BHW and testing. The other 10% is previous experience and offline influence.

No secret here. The difference is I read about 10X the threads of the average user. You can complain when you know who Veryon and Kimi are. If you do not know there threads, you need to do more reading.

I have made it to the back of black hat SEO from page one to page 100 or something like that. Thousands of threads. Until you catch up on your reading you will not have the same knowledge people who make it are. Every thread I read of failure or success saves me time testing. That gives me faster results.

    2. I work my a** off.

I find this one amusing. On more than one occasion I have been asked what someone can be doing because they are waiting for a SEO package to finish, or for content to come in. My stock answer has become:

    1. Optimize site speed
    2. Manual Guest Post Outreach
    3. Create Social Accounts
    4. Facebook Group Posting
    5. Reddit Community Posting
    6. Yahoo Q and A profile building and question answering
    7. Manual Wikipedia editing to improve your account.
    8. Manual 301 Creation and Social Sharing
    9. Long Tail KW Research
    10. Manual Interlinking on Website
    11. Manual Tier One Content Spinning and Editing
    12. Manual Web 2.0 Creation
    13. Create Guest Post accounts on sites like Medium.com
    14. Manuel Social Bookmark your existing tier one links
    15. Etc

I have a huge list of things I 'can be doing' at all times. When someone is stuck or feels like they have nothing to do I pass along my list. Every option will help you rank or help your site in the future.

But most people do not think like me. They are short sighted. I do not have enough hours in my day to do everything I can do or want to do.

You have not made it because you simply are not working hard enough. Sure, SEO takes time, but you can always be improving your back link profile.

Everyone I know who is successful is doing more than one thing at a time. Macdonjo3 has a couple dozen threads ranging from coding to basic SEO to hacking popular websites ranking methods (Such as Quora) to get Do Follow links. He has his hands in everything. t0mmy has his hands in every side of SEO in black hat and white hat. Basstrackerboats has his hands in local clients, passive sites, program development such as link pushing, etc. The people who make it are doing more than just 'building a MNS' like most people do.

    3. You give up too quickly.

This one bothers me. I have helped a LOT of people in PM. For one user, who made the BEST WEB 2.0s I have ever seen, I got a few Guest Posts for, a few Edu Posts, and a lot of tier two links for free to help him out. His Web 2.0s were great and I offered to pay him to build some for me. He declined and has given up on IM because SEO is not instant.

One of the most talented people I have met gave up despite getting an offer to make money from me.

I get that a lot. I help people. Give them resources. Free links. Free indexing. Free aged web 2.0s. Free PBN posts. Etc.

Even with hand holding most people (All but one) have quit. I have spent $,$$$ on other peoples projects. It sucks the life out of me because I have given a lot to people who do not appreciate it. Just like my shares here (I spend a lot of time brainstorming 'good ideas' and writing posts), most people are negative or do not apply the knowledge they gain.

That is why you fail. You are negative. You give up right before you make it. You pass up chances for money.

If you are a quitter or negative you will not make it in this business. You need to keep working until you make it.

Quitting is not the same as failing. I have failed a lot. I move onto another project until it works.

This is the difference between pulling in the bacon and going home empty handed. Do not give up.

    4. You blame the Method

It is not the method, it is you. You need to learn skills. You need to learn how to apply those skills. Asap1 tells people all the time (As do I) 'learn SEO and not a method'. Why? If you learn SEO you can always rank another site.

If you learn to spam Youtube for a niche you can apply those skills on other videos or get clients.

But your little hack to spam an exploit can't be replicated or a skill. You are at the right place at the right time.

You need to realize a good method is about creating a skill you can apply and with enough work you can make any method work.

Forget learning the right method and work on gaining a new skill above all. As long as you keep blaming the method you will not make the money you should be. Accept when you fail and move on.

    What am I saying?

You do not work hard enough. You give up too soon. You do not learn skills but rely upon exploits.

If you take this personally then this message applies to you. Stop whining about not making it and get to work. If you work harder and smarter you will make it. Working smart with little effort is not enough. Working hard without working intelligently will lead to failure. You need both. Most people have one or the other. This is why IM and SEO is not for most people.

I would love to have your task list. I have problems organizing myself. I put too much to do on my plate and end up doing nothing.

I did not always have a task list like this. Once upon a time my list was 'Do SEO stuff'. I had to sit down and make a LONG list of things I could be doing at any time.

So when ever I am bored I get started.

That is what keeps me productive. I do not have enough time. One man can't be an agency. But that is what I aim for. If I fail, I still do better than 99.9% of the people. So that is my goal.

    Thank you bud.

See, the difference is you actually work. You and I both know it. Sure, everyone can improve, but you work hard and make your income freelancing.

But if I motivated you, I demand a nice candle lit dinner with your next big payday.

Just kidding. I hope people here realize that small stuff can be applied to bigger projects. I am not much of a contributor here but I do read the forum. I have failed so many times that it only pushed me further. I am not interested in any type of stars under my nickname. Heck! Even my closest friends haven't got a clue of what am I doing and still manage everything from bills to spending extra on stuff I like. Like you can see from the text I am not a native english speaker and this has never been a problem to apply everything learned so far. Also I have given up on helping people for a long time since I was in a situation of hundreds of PM's asking for help. Focusing on my own things and my work is more productive than wasting time. Your text inspire and hoping it will help somebody get them going. When you spend over 13 years in marketing online you have read it all. I come here to see the methods - not to apply them but to see what people have done and (not apply my own twist) but always look for another angle where it can be replicated in my own work - this way I have no competition.

Once again thank you for your post and wish you all the best.

Step one: Share your website with random people who PM you on BHW...

I had to Roy! I had no choice!

I am still out of thanks too...

I will tell you think, you better not follow the threads of that royserpa guy. You also better not do a lot of work to find a super profitable niche you can exploit. That is the last thing you should do, follow the advice of a guy who is successful.

The problem is still why we even need to work so hard, especially doing stupid things like posting in a social network. From a rational standpoint, it makes not really sense and it creates no real life values.
That is why I understand anyone, who can't work that hard. For me it is the right thing to do. Because if we are in competition to each other, what would happen if we all would work hard? It is a vicious circle if you can still follow me.

For SEO,you need to first work hard and learn everything, then smartly use your brain for your work.
    You will rock.

    Real Talk.

Almost anyone can make money online, but only a few actually do. Why? Lack of follow through.

Some people are either too scared to try, or have a thousand excuses piled up.

That... or they quit easily after 1-2 failures. True story.

Let's dissect everything you just said.

You work so hard to make money. Don't put in the effort and you make no money. If you don't see the value of creating social accounts for SEO then you really don't know what you are doing. Especially, after Leith's thread about utilizing expired twitters to help you rank easier. Social profiles add diversity to your backlink profile, can get you additional traffic to your site depending on the niche, and so much more.

The next thing you said is "creates no real life values." That's bullshit. If I take you literally and say that it doesn't create any value in real life then you are being an idiot. SEO is one way to get traffic to your site. You game Google's algorithm in order for your site to be number 1. The things that you consider "stupid," are necessary in order for you rank in Google. Consider all the stuff that you need to do as some kind of work ethic. Having a work ethic does provide value for your life. If you can't even set up social profiles, set up yahoo answers, set up quoras, set up a 2.0, set up shorteners and so forth... - then you really don't have a work ethic. You aren't disciplined enough to sit through the tedious work and get your site ranked.

And, that's because you are shortsighted. You don't see the end of the tunnel. That's increased rankings. Page 1 = money

Sure lazy people can understand other lazy people. There really isn't a moral imperative to be lazy. Not at least in this case. And, guess what do you do in response to competition? Pick another keyword to rank for. There's millions if not hundreds of millions of keywords to target. There are endless niches. If a competitor is a problem you move on. There's plenty of room for SEOs to make money. Or, you stand your ground and build stronger links.

You can go back to working mcdonalds while everyone else is collecting dough. How the fuck can people still be so negative after all the gold that was shared in BHW? Blows my mind.

What's ironic is that the OP explains why you won't make any money.

    Hello,

I agree with you: there are incredible golden nuggets hidden in the forum. I took a look at kimi's threads: they are very interesting, even if I'm not really into SEO. But, I can't find veryon's threads. Could you give me the link to his profile? Thanks
