I remember when I first got JR VIP and put the little tag under my username of 'Working my A** Off'. I first got some PM's asking why I had it. Then I started helping people in threads and got the occasional reply of 'now I know why you have that as your title!' Every couple weeks I get a PM stating, to the effect, 'man, you really do work your a** off.'
I decided to make a thread with personal examples explaining why someone like myself can make money from the same method you are failing with.
1. We Both learned EVERYTHING we know from BHW
Yup. It is a fact. 90% of what I know comes from BHW and testing. The other 10% is previous experience and offline influence.
No secret here. The difference is I read about 10X the threads of the average user. You can complain when you know who Veryon and Kimi are. If you do not know there threads, you need to do more reading.
I have made it to the back of black hat SEO from page one to page 100 or something like that. Thousands of threads. Until you catch up on your reading you will not have the same knowledge people who make it are. Every thread I read of failure or success saves me time testing. That gives me faster results.
2. I work my a** off.
I find this one amusing. On more than one occasion I have been asked what someone can be doing because they are waiting for a SEO package to finish, or for content to come in. My stock answer has become:
1. Optimize site speed
2. Manual Guest Post Outreach
3. Create Social Accounts
4. Facebook Group Posting
5. Reddit Community Posting
6. Yahoo Q and A profile building and question answering
7. Manual Wikipedia editing to improve your account.
8. Manual 301 Creation and Social Sharing
9. Long Tail KW Research
10. Manual Interlinking on Website
11. Manual Tier One Content Spinning and Editing
12. Manual Web 2.0 Creation
13. Create Guest Post accounts on sites like Medium.com
14. Manuel Social Bookmark your existing tier one links
15. Etc
I have a huge list of things I 'can be doing' at all times. When someone is stuck or feels like they have nothing to do I pass along my list. Every option will help you rank or help your site in the future.
But most people do not think like me. They are short sighted. I do not have enough hours in my day to do everything I can do or want to do.
You have not made it because you simply are not working hard enough. Sure, SEO takes time, but you can always be improving your back link profile.
Everyone I know who is successful is doing more than one thing at a time. Macdonjo3 has a couple dozen threads ranging from coding to basic SEO to hacking popular websites ranking methods (Such as Quora) to get Do Follow links. He has his hands in everything. t0mmy has his hands in every side of SEO in black hat and white hat. Basstrackerboats has his hands in local clients, passive sites, program development such as link pushing, etc. The people who make it are doing more than just 'building a MNS' like most people do.
3. You give up too quickly.
This one bothers me. I have helped a LOT of people in PM. For one user, who made the BEST WEB 2.0s I have ever seen, I got a few Guest Posts for, a few Edu Posts, and a lot of tier two links for free to help him out. His Web 2.0s were great and I offered to pay him to build some for me. He declined and has given up on IM because SEO is not instant.
One of the most talented people I have met gave up despite getting an offer to make money from me.
I get that a lot. I help people. Give them resources. Free links. Free indexing. Free aged web 2.0s. Free PBN posts. Etc.
Even with hand holding most people (All but one) have quit. I have spent $,$$$ on other peoples projects. It sucks the life out of me because I have given a lot to people who do not appreciate it. Just like my shares here (I spend a lot of time brainstorming 'good ideas' and writing posts), most people are negative or do not apply the knowledge they gain.
That is why you fail. You are negative. You give up right before you make it. You pass up chances for money.
If you are a quitter or negative you will not make it in this business. You need to keep working until you make it.
Quitting is not the same as failing. I have failed a lot. I move onto another project until it works.
This is the difference between pulling in the bacon and going home empty handed. Do not give up.
4. You blame the Method
It is not the method, it is you. You need to learn skills. You need to learn how to apply those skills. Asap1 tells people all the time (As do I) 'learn SEO and not a method'. Why? If you learn SEO you can always rank another site.
If you learn to spam Youtube for a niche you can apply those skills on other videos or get clients.
But your little hack to spam an exploit can't be replicated or a skill. You are at the right place at the right time.
You need to realize a good method is about creating a skill you can apply and with enough work you can make any method work.
Forget learning the right method and work on gaining a new skill above all. As long as you keep blaming the method you will not make the money you should be. Accept when you fail and move on.
What am I saying?
You do not work hard enough. You give up too soon. You do not learn skills but rely upon exploits.
If you take this personally then this message applies to you. Stop whining about not making it and get to work. If you work harder and smarter you will make it. Working smart with little effort is not enough. Working hard without working intelligently will lead to failure. You need both. Most people have one or the other. This is why IM and SEO is not for most people.
