Anyone still using this technique in 2018?

simply redirecting expired domains to your money site? Just curious cause I thought google had clamped down on it... but seems to be a common tactic people are using on sites for sale on flipping marketplaces/flippa etc..

Thinking of a giving it a test. Say I have expired domain on "home/ kitchen" niche broadly, would it be a bad idea to use that to target a niche like toasters, blenders etc?
Like how relevant are the domains people use for this?
I'm planning to give it a go anyways, will post if anything interesting

You can get much more use out of the domain when its part of your pbn

I made some 301s in the past. Sometimes it had an effect and sometimes no effect. You have to try it and see what is going to happen. If I would be you I would probably just make a blogpost and put a link in the footer.

The fact that people routinely do it on sites they plan to flip probably means that it's not the best long-term strategy. If it's a quality domain, and you care about your money site over the long term, it would serve you better in a PBN.
