I have found some highly related expired domains with backlinks (from other highly related websites in my niche) to my primary site.

I was wondering whether i can still redirect the expired domains to my site without receiving penalties from google?

I couldn't work out if they penalise this or not because for businesses it is a perfectly normal practice to "buy" out your competition and redirect their traffic/entire site (and by default backlinks) to their primary site?

Anyone with experience using this method?

So you have an exclamation mark at the end of your title but your post is having 3 questions?

Where is the statement that 301 redirects work?

Now, on your issue, 301 redirects do still work. At least for me.

    Thanks for your reply!

How many niche related expired domains do you 301 redirect to your primary sites?

    Cheers!

First of all, redirecting more than 1 domain is all but natural. Trying to redirect some 10RD, previously Japanese PBN domains to your money site will not help you much either. Unless you have some pretty strong domain with pretty related anchors, then don't even bother.

When you say it still works am i correct to assume you are referring to making sure good trustflow/citation and hasn't been abused with spam links/banned from adsense/google?

    Hey again bro!

I have 5 expired domains that i have found that have been linked to by industry leaders in my niche. I have checked the anchors for the backlinks to make sure not spammy.

But from what you are saying redirecting more than 1 strong highly related domain to your main site throws up google penalities?

Checking anchors is not enough to see if stuff is spammy or not. I can assure you that maybe 1 of them is fine, rest isn't.

Why do you people still expect penalty for everything? You may simply not rank, you may pass way too many irrelevant anchor texts to your money site, redirects may have no effect, yes you may even get a penalty in the end possibly.
