Straight up I really needed to see this thanks for the contribution I'm going to have to bookmark this post. So many things here to take instant action on but most people don't even have the willpower to read this whole post, let alone take action on a method. I'm thinking about having to go into writing to help pay for the bills instead of having to get a second job for a shitty paycheck. You have any tips or pointers for me to start.? First and foremost, make a list of everything you are good at, and everything you enjoy doing.
If there's anything that comes up on both lists, circle it. If there's nothing you can add to the first list, get learning:
When I first started taking marketing seriously, less than a year ago, I used to do a lot of article writing. Combined with some other income I had coming in, I invested in some more long-term projects and this really paid off. From your OP I can tell you're no journalist, but you're good enough to write. $100 is a very realistic figure once you pick up regular clients, however, without hiring a team of writers, you'd struggle to make $1000 a day. If writing doesn't appeal to you, and I'd totally understand why, then Social Media is probably a good place to look. Once you get the ball rolling you can easily climb into the 100s/day and from there is snowballs FAST. I'm not going to tell you which social media to work on - It's really just personal preference - But I will share some of my personal bookmarks from BHW:
While this doesn't really need any investment, I would suggest getting into SEO once you have a bit of spare cash. This is definitely a long-term investment, which is why most people don't even try it. I guess it all comes down to what type of person you are. Do you want quick, easy money today, or are you prepared to work your butt off for a few months and then reap the rewards later down the line?

- Stay motivated. Shit will get tough at times. Don't give up just because you haven't made any money yet. I worked 300+ hours for free last summer and I learnt more than I've ever learnt before. Just because I didn't make any money for a few months doesn't mean that it was a waste of time. Check the Journey section and follow some threads. It'll really help you to stay motivated.
- Don't try too much. This is slightly hypocritical, as I'm guilty of this, but making one thing WORK is better than marking ten things NEARLY work.
- Learn. Spend a few weeks learning before you decide what to get into. Don't just jump into something straight away because you think it's a good idea.
- Save. Don't blow all of your money right away - you never know when you'll need it. A
I know that the OP probably isn't going to read through this. There's no harm in asking for advice, but nine times out of ten the people doing so aren't prepared to work for it and he probably took one look at this wall of text and went to sleep. Hopefully there's someone out there who's motivated enough and managed to take something away from this.
