Hello there.
Just wanted to share the journey of my first affiliate/ads site. I hope to gain knowledge in regards to on-page/off-page SEO and share what I learned with you guys. In the beginning, I will be linking to all of the BHW guides that I'll use which will be my main learning sources at first. After I learn the basics, I'll start sharing my own personal experience with what works and what doesn't.
I am starting this journey because I want to be able to organize all of my ideas and everything I have planned to do. I also wanted to start this in hopes of hearing your guys' advice on my site.
So far, I've done the basics: chose a niche and domain, set up hosting and designed logo/website, wrote about me/contact me/privacy policy pages, and did keyword research. For the persona of the site I will be using @meathead1234 's advice:
I am following this guide by @Nerva to make sure I get the basics of building an authority/affiliate site down https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/g...liate-site-for-that-matter-giveaways.1162211/
Keyword research I am using multiple guides to accurately target long-tail low comp keywords:
1. @kn1ves - using free plugins to determine difficulty of competition
https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/g...ompetition-without-spending-a-dollar.1074066/
2. @Holzr - In-depth analytics of competition + KGR and Content-Length
https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/u...analyse-serp-and-keyword-competition.1118710/
For content creation, here are the guides I am using. I will be writing buyer guides as well as informative guides and keeping a 40% to 60% ratio.
1. @Nerva https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/g...r-amazon-buying-guides-the-right-way.1098662/
2. @SEOzack https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/guide-how-to-write-amazon-affiliate-content.1142009/
3. @MisterF https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/get-affiliate-site-money-page-content-templates.1019558/
Once I get my content creation done, I'll start looking for more info about on-site and off-site SEO. I know the basics of how everything works but I need to touch upon it. I'll share those guides as well.
My Rough Plan:
- Write 2 buyer guides + 3 info articles a week on one sub-niche
- Optimize on-page SEO
- Move onto next sub-niche
- When pages start to rank in the 20-30s with NO BACKLINKS, only then will I start to build backlinks
Lastly, my goal. Well, my end goal is to be able to reach $100 daily consistently. I feel that if I am able to reach this milestone, I'll easily be able to scale my earnings as it shows that I know what I am doing. I'll also be using this guide by @nihalsad once I reach my goal to help give me a bit more traffic: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/method-1-seo-hack-you-can-apply-today-and-rank-in-2-weeks.1101999/
Oh and this is a LOW BUDGET journey. I am a poor high schooler and don't have much to spend. The only money I've spent so far is my domain ($8), hosting ($5), and @SEOzack 's amazon guide ($20). So total: $33. Throughout my journey, I'll share expenses and profits as that is something I'd want to see if I was following any journey.
I'll update this thread whenever anything major happens.
If I ever make it to my $100 per day goal, I hope this thread will be the perfect guide for newbies, like me, to follow step by step and successfully make their own money-making authority site.

The first step is to create a person (or people) who run the blog. Ideally it should be amateur but still an authority. For example, if your chosen niche is mattresses, you could choose someone who talks about having back pain. Use a stock photo (that looks like a real person!) and write up a bio. You *can* use yourself as the expert/blogger but this would make it much harder to sell the site so I would not recommend this, even if you know about the subject you've written about.

No course will teach you authority site building.
My method, is to pick a niche: example: home improvement.
I then pick a sub-niche about home improvement: drywall
I then write everything I can about drywall:
Putting up drywall
Priming drywall
Patching drywall
Mold damaged drywall
Differences in drywall types
Until I feel I have covered that topic in-depth. Then I start writing about a new topic: moulding
Cover the topic in-depth, then on to a new sub-niche.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
When building an authority site, I do keyword research to find keywords, and build out each article targeting low, medium, high keywords, along with long tails keywords. If it takes 5,000 words or 500 words, I simply make sure each article cover that topic fully.
Funny enough, it is truly that easy to get it started.
