I would love your input. Do you trust Patel's guidance?
Not a chance in hell when it comes to SEO. He used to have some good insights on content and marketing, but that's all gone to shite since his started floating in the clouds some years back. Now it's mostly paying writers to write him content and either not bothering to read the content himself to see that they steal from others or then he just simply doesn't care.
I had been successfully avoiding him for quite some time now, but YouTube has since decided I should watch some of his garbage and keeps pushing it my way. Seriously dislike his on camera persona and style as well, but that's more of a question of personal taste than skill.
To sum it up, I'd steer away from him and, unless proven otherwise by a much more reliable source, ignore his advice altogether.
Can you give a few examples?
I personally enjoy Brian's work over on Backlinko. If he's not to your style then Ahrefs is pretty solid as well. Both blogs get a plus in my books for the data they include in most of their proper articles.
And in a weird perverted way I enjoy watching good old Rand Fishkin rubbing his magical whiteboard whilst trying to figure out how to grow a beard.
