Amazon Cutting Commissions on April 21st

Gentlemen, whenever I'm the need of a little pick-me-up, I always go to this speech. It's what made me quit my job and start my business, it's what gets me focused when things seem dire. I don't care if you agree with Jordan and it doesn't matter which sector or position you're in - this is universal and it's what everyone needs to listen to right now.

I will also try to create an ecommerce where i sell my designs and diversify my earnings

Time to start moving away, we should create a guide and sticky it with amazon alternatives. I know it depends on your niche and location but a lot of local businesses who dont have an affiliate program would be happy to hear from you your in their niche and drive buying customers to amazon constantly. Worth looking into, especially with people driving to support local businesses
 
noticed many vendors, im approved with outside of amazon, have also cut their direct commission rates following this news...
 
Fucking shit man, first eBay cut commissions hard in the categories I was targeting last fall. And now after getting momentum in my amazon affiliate and seeing some profit, they pull this bs man.

I’m not spending any more money on my amazon affiliate blog. Thanks for wasting my time!!

How do you go about getting/tracking comissions etc. for referring sales when a vendor does not have an affiliate program?
 
8% to 3%. That is a reduction of 62.5%.

Does this mean that all those gurus who are teaching people to build Amazon affiliate sites would reduce their course prize?

Nope. Instead they will take this as an opportunity to do a webinar to suck in more newbies :(
 
This is sad. Unfortunately, 90% of my revenue is coming from categories not hit. But sure this is a time bomb.

Definitely. Admittedly I was a bit smug when home & garden wasn't affected as badly as other categories in the last cut. Guess I got my comeuppance ;-)
 
Very soon there will be no Amazon affiliate program.
Guys, shift your business and to something that you can own.
These big boys just want to keep everything for themselves :P

May be we can stop plating by Amazon rules and go for more aggressive about Amazon product promotion.

If Amazon keeps cutting their commission rates, we will reach at stage where nobody will care about losing an amazon affiliate account
