Hi guys, first of all, I'm not an SEO expert by any means, so don't get mad at me if I'm wrong. I just wanted to share my experience with yall. As you all know, many people got hit by the last Google update, and I was one of them.

Luckily, I found a fix for my situation. I'm not saying it will work for everyone, as there could be other factors affecting rankings. I just thought maybe it could help some of you. My top article had a YouTube video in it, and it had no

problem since I added the video. But suddenly, after the new Google update came out (I believe it is the reason), I received a warning on Search Console (you can see the pic below). And my article went from ranking top 3 on all

keywords to completely disappearing. I tried updating the article, changed a few things here and there, tried to fix the "Video outside the viewport" by changing the video container size, but nothing helped.

So I just removed the video from the article, and, in about 2 hours BOOM, all top 3 rankings were back again. So if any of you guys noticed some warnings on the "Video pages" like "Video outside the viewport" or similar other

video related warnings, just remove the video, request indexing from the Search Console, and you should be good to go in a few hours. I'm not really sure if this was caused by the Google update, but if it is, then this should work

for everyone. I hope it works out for y'all who were affected by the update as well. See ya! ✌️

WOW, thank you very much for sharing this. I got 2 issues for this and i didn't even check them. I will try to remove these 2 videos and see if the site recovers

Google f***ed me up in the last update, I'll see if this helps, thanks for sharing.
You are welcome, I hope it was helpful.

I found out 2 of those pages with that problem got hit in the last update,
i just removed the video from one of them and resubmitted it while i didn't touch the other.
Let's see if the one where i removed the video recovers and if the other doesn't.
Will update here

Nice idea, this way we can see if it actually works.

So, it's a specific case and not necessarily helpful for most of us who got hit by the September update. Still, a good find.

Thanks for sharing, I happen to have a lot of those errors on my site that is having drops out of top 100, ill try on 20 or so pages and monitor.

You are welcome brother, I hope it helps, please keep us updated if you regain your rankings.

I will perform the operation to delete the video section on 200,000 URLs, all of which have been reported for the same video error, resulting in a significant drop in traffic and ranking. I hope to see positive results. I've already bookmarked this post and will check back in one or two weeks to see how it's going.

Whoa, 200k url is a lot, I'm sure you lost a bunch of traffic, I hope you can recover as well, GL with it.

I will try, I have some of those messages and I don't understand why. Did anyone else get improvement?

It worked for me. There is nothing you can lose if you already lost your rankings so why not give it a try.

thanks for this share, had this problem come up a while back not knowing how to fix it

I just realized I have about 4,500 Urls with this problem. It's a shame that none of my pages with the highest traffic that lost positions this month were not affected. Perhaps the fall of other smaller ones could have been fundamental for them to lose strength.

I'll bookmark this topic to see if your perception is right. I'm going to have to reconfigure them all. Luckily, my theme allows you to replace the post cover image with a video, this problem disappears if you leave the video up there where the testing tool can see it.

Yeah man I wish you good luck with that, I hope it works for you as well

so update, on the affected pages I opted for removing the videos comepletely:

as of today, 11 of the 20 jumped right back to their old ranking, including my top article (thank god)

but 9 havent, and few more posts continued to drop out (different ones than what were already dropped)

I have not proper idea if the videos alone are the reason, it could just be the algo sent my stuff back

at a time that makes it look like it is related. But I do want to say that I was barely recovering any

articles before I tried removing these so it might be a cause. Was worth the try.

Im going to remove more videos from the pages with errors ( they would be easy to add back if they were not really the issue

so it doesnt hurt me to try more)

(the ones in places like 60 were just the tool showing other parts of my site in the top 100, the actual post for these keywords were completely gone from top 100 before removing video).
