Yes, the way things have been going, they will soon close it.
i hope they do not. but i think it is inevitable.

so long are the days of building amazon affiliate sites. the end has come

Owch this hit is pretty brutal.

The guy's I feel most sorry for are the guys that built out websites on single niches like lawn mowers, gardening products, home stuff and more.

This is an instant 70% cut to their earnings.

Will they reverse this? Is it possible if we all do something to reverse this? :(

They have a feedback form that's linked from the commission rate change page: https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/home/contact?feedbackSource=/help/operating/compare

If we all write in about how this is affecting our livelihood - especially during this already very uncertain time - there's a very slim chance they hear us out collectively.

I run several affiliate sites, some large some small, and 100% of my niches are affected. When you're in this game you know this is always a risk. It's a matter of when, not if. There are merchants out there actually INCREASING affiliate conversions temporarily to help out during the COVID-19 crisis... this is an absolutely vicious move by Amazon.

I use to do quite a bit with Shareasale. Stand up company that did convert highly. A good affiliate network will be proactive in ensuring merchants convert.
The problems with these are that you can't just make top 10 bla bla website and bank six figures. You need to apply to each programm and wait few weeks.to get accepted and actually most of the time they don't convert at all.

This drastic change in commission fees is likely due to the current pandemic, I doubt that they're going to make their affiliate program as unlucrative as it is right now on a long-term basis. In my opinion, that's a call from the top so that they squeeze the last percentages of revenue in those times, so that their investors won't cut their shares.

I recently created a Journey thread and was aiming to do $200/Day with Adsense and Amazon and looks like now I need to change my Thread Title -_-

I was in Pets niche and wanted to enjoy 8% but it looks like Amazon saw my Journey thread and wanted to F**K with it.

They are making stock higher as I think Bezoffs want to cash out. After that Amazon will slowly go downside.

Guy posted a screenshot in a FB group where he'd asked support if this was just a temp measure for the COVID-19 and the CS said to him it was a permanent move.

Wow. What awful timing. My 8% down to 3%. Especially on one site I just acquired 2 weeks ago.

Going to give Skimlnks a go. They seem to have an Amazon Overwrite tool. Anyone used it?
Skimlinks deleted Amazon from their network this month. Probably because of this reason.

Can't believe someone is so stupid as to use their affiliate link on a post in here though. Hence I've removed his comment.

Typical move that I’ve seen so many businesses do - it’s essentially the same as giving your best employees a pay cut.

Short sighted thinking there is no negative cost that will counteract that saving.

Lol,. didn't see that on phone, what a moron :D

Amazon Stocks all-time high. This is a decision from the top. They've decided we're expendable from here on out.

Good time to short amazon I’d say.
