ever wondered about the mysterious sudden drop in views? (this is what people refer to as a shadowban). it can be caused by policy violation or the platform having to distribute views to others.
this is known to happen on all social media platforms such as,
facebook,tiktok,youtube,IG.

you can find evidence and reports from people complaining about drop in reach on all these platforms. with tiktok and IG being the most discussed about this issue.

This is likely an automated flagging conducted by YouTube. I've had it occur at least 3 times in the past.
Please Tweet to TeamYouTube on Twitter and I believe you can get this resolved (it worked for me; they
manually reviewed within 24h and removed the flagging -- views went back to normal).

What I can say is that after monetization, you enter a limit of views, for youtube to control how much money your channel will give, because, after monetization, my views dropped a lot and what I earned with the link of affiliates, today, I get totally discouraged.
The tip is, if you work with cpa, affiliates, don't monetize your channel, one of my videos had 400 views a day, it's not much (
my channel was only 4 months old), but for my niche it was good and yielding a lot of sales via affiliate link, then monetization approved, dropped to 80 views in a matter of days, I've heard others say the same.

I could write here theories about youtube, but surely someone already said the same in another topic and many don't care, so...

yes they cap you to a threshold once you are monetized.

this is what people refer to as shadowban. the popular opinion.
while i understand you need to upload need content, the problem is when the impressions drop on the channel, i can upload that same video to a fresh channel that does not have it's impressions cut off, and the video suddenly gets millions of views, which means there is nothing wrong with the content, but the artificial "capping" or "threshold" imposed on that channel by the youtube algorithm.

i see this as a problem so i work with different channels. some channels lose impressions for a few months and i work with new ones, gain money and return back to the old ones once their "cycle" get reset.
now they will be ready to get impressions again.

Actually, I think if your channel has a good base of subscribers and you produce good content you won't loss impressions.
People see your new content, click and watch it, post comments and shares. YT analyzes that users are interested in your videos and offers other people to watch it.
One click and watching gives you at least 15/20 impressions.

i've seen it even in cases with good base of subscribers, a sudden 95% to 100% loss of impressions, for a period of time like a few months. it can be easily replicated.
 
@YoutubeScientist I can relate. The view threshold is real. Do you have any idea on how to break the vicious circle? No matter what I do, I can't get more views than the usual numbers.

when some channels become established enough, at some point you will get stable views.
 
I will read all the posts when I have some free time. One of the topics quoted was something I noticed for me and youtube shorts. Sometimes the videos will reset to zero views out of nowhere and it will go on for a while but then all of a sudden the views will slowly come back up. I've been managing a shorts channel for 3 months and I've posted more than 300 videos but none of them have gotten over 2 or 3 thousand views. According to my previous experiences, videos can be watched a lot at a very irrelevant time, I will wait a little longer and wait for it to be watched. Otherwise, I will have to open a new channel.

I work with multiple channels under one IP / device. Every channel gets limited by other channels, so there is no way any of them becomes established enough.
I guess the only way to work around this is proxy and other device.
 
My channel was getting views last week but now I think it is ghosted. I won't stop uploading youtube shorts though, I'll update here if it gets views again.
 
I don’t know it’s same thing but recently My 2 websites shadowbanned from google. I always get 80-100 hit per day. Suddenly it dropped 0, now my one website got 4 views at last 2 weeks
 
what was the correlation between all the shadow ban reports?
did they have similarities in the niche maybe? stuff like red-pill?
