What is the impact of deleting all old videos from YouTube channel ?

Does it give signal to YouTube that something is suspicious and they add some penalty for such a channel ?

It will ruin your channel and it will possibly never recover.

I did it a few years ago and made the worst mistake ever...
 
Deleting old videos can lead to a possible shadow ban of the channel.
 
YouTube may reduce the total amount of time watched, views and and any statistics related to these videos

YOUTUBE UNETHICALLY AND SECRETLY HAS A REPUTATION BASED ON OVERALL STATS. Deleting old popular videos will bring majority of your stats down(daily,weekly,monthly,yearly it factors it all in. It's usually fine if the videos are less than 20% of views. But higher than that and your Global ranking (is what I believe exists) will go down.
 
I deleted 2M views worth of videos.

Go figure what happened with the channel :D
 
i created a channel in 2017 and upload about 30 videos there, got some views but not much after i stopped uploading
so 2 weeks ago i changed a bit the niche, deleted all videos and start over with new videos

still getting good views there , some of my shorts got 1300 views in 3 days, other videos still getting views

Yeah but what percentage of views is from browse features?
 
Generally, i wouldn't recommend deleting videos from YouTube channel. You will lose the ranking and any other benefits you gained from the video
 
I always advice not to delete the old videos. Keep them lying there. They are not going to harm you but deleting them will definitely harm your channel.

Buddy, do not spread such information. This is not true.
 
Your views will reduced. Maybe the likes and time watched also will reduced
 
Deleting your old videos just prolong the journey of getting monetize because you will definitely lose your watch time hour… correct me if I’m wrong.

So just make them private ?
 
Don't delete videos it have negative impact on algo also it reduce the reach for new videos

If the videos have lot of views just leave it, if not just make it private

remember deleting or making private will remove watch hours gained
 
Kill your channel trust with YouTube

YouTube account will get flagged that you deleted video that merit your account.

You got channels with YouTube that what there for, to add new content within the YouTube system.

Why can you not just leave what there.

If empty account is that important just create another account or buy one .
 
It will affect our channel but not for the reasons most of people here said. Not shadow ban or some tin foil hat conspiracy theory.

Youtube algorithm follow the users. It means they will push / show videos to users screen based on users' browse history.

So deleting videos means deleting our hard earned ranking factors. Even if it's different niche, etc, in overall the browse history will have some ranking factors (co watch, etc).

Also, our most viewed videos could be the source of view for our other videos (Suggested / End Screen / etc). So deleting such videos means deleting our view source. Again even it's different niche.

I can understand the reasons why people want to delete old videos. But unless:
1. They are not shameful personal videos LOL.
2. They don't have view at all.
3. The videos are already 'dead' (no impressions for very long time).
DO NOT delete them.

Forget about niche themed, etc, every video views are our asset. Take note.
 
Hi, my channel was demonetized due to repetitive content, should I delete all videos or make them private, also YouTube support team said even if we put old videos in private still affect the review process. So what should I do kindly help in this regard
