Search volume is one of the most commonly used metrics in SEO and one it is not often utilized as according to its potential.

As there are many ways to gage a search volume estimate for an keywords, like using tools like Google keyword planner or by third party tools like Semrush, Ahref and more. But these all methods have some drawbacks and limitations:

1. They are not that accurate, but estimates.

2. Many times these tools will report ZERO search volume; whilst there's actually tons of search volume (you can see this in GSC for example).

3. Low search volume keywords can be very valuable, for B2B businesses for example it's common for bottom of the funnel conversion $$$ keywords to have low search volumes.

4. Forecasting based search volumes are just being precise, but not accurate. You can’t really list all the keywords you can ever rank for with a specific blog post and volumes are not comprehensive.

5. You can use search volumes to prioritize content and decide what to go after, first but if you're focused on conversions search volumes will not be a priority in that matter unless you're comparing bottom of funnel topics.

Tip: To achieve topical authority in a niche or subject for your website rankings. You need to cover the topics that are related to your niche regardless of their search volume. You can’t say just like I will not write a blog about this because it does not have enough search volume. You can use it to incorporate it as part of a larger topic instead of having it as a standalone blog post.

Please share your thoughts on how do you use search volume in your SEO campaigns?

I'm skeptical. However, I did do it, and the keywords whose search volume shows 0 in ahrefs have really good traffic.
Although, I will still filter only keywords with a certain amount of search
Brother, have you done any data analysis in this area?
