Based on what we've seen in the past, both with our pages and those of other Instagram marketers we know, a shadowban is when your posts stop ranking for all hashtags, both on the TOP and RECENT tabs of the platform.
Normally, the lower engagement period that accompanies this "ban" or restriction last around 14 days.
In the last two weeks, we've seen something else happen.
If you look at the attached pic, you'll see a screenshot of what we saw for a brief moment last week when we checked the brand hashtag for one of our pages from another account. Not sure why this popped up unless a competitor is purposely coordinating some kind of attack on this particular page (which is possible, as we have been getting hit with doses of 1k fake followers since late April 2018, as I discussed on another thread here: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/buying-fake-followers-for-your-competitors.1054452/).
We haven't been able to recreate this screenshot again, but it happened during a period where our posts are appearing in the RECENT tab, but not the TOP section, where our content used to appear all the time.
Have you guys seen this before? In other words, seeing your posts all of the sudden appear in the RECENT, but not the TOP posts section? I'm talking about very high quality, unique posts that typically rank high in our industry.
Also, what are your thoughts on the attached screenshot about the community guideline reports associated with our brand hashtag?
