My 12 Week Kindle Challenge

There has to Be Promotional Momentum, on the First Day of Publishing eBook, There Has to Be Flood of Promotion over Social Media, Forum's, Book Related Promo Websites, YOU HAVE TO GET AT LEAST 5 - High 5 Star Reviews from Top Reviewer's, There has to be Flood all over Internet, Amazon promotion will Not Cut it Alone, This is Imperative !!!

Really...you don't have to shout. You seem to be very pumped on this promo thing but all you're doing is regurgitating what someone else has said. I mention writing because you need to put it into action. Even if it's just a short non-fic, YOU are going to have to test instead of simply telling people they need a Promo Tsunami before their book is published. You know this works because...as evidenced by what?? What someone else has said? Promo is vital but the book is the key. There's absolutely nothing wrong with learning promo along the way. There is no Perfect Promo system. There is no Perfect Publisher guideline for success. AND.... there are many authors that do very well without a platform.

I have EVERY kindle product on the market and have been publishing since 2011. I've worked with 2 bestselling authors and many kindle money chasers. I've seen it all. Sometimes stuff works and sometimes it tanks. What you're shouting about is NOT new. You're not uncovering the Holy Grail of book marketing.

Besides...without a book, what's the point.

What Do You Mean Shouting ???
The MOMENTUM as I explained it above, makes ebook to rank #1 within Sub/Niche, nothing more - nothing less..

All of My Replies Here are Quality Refined and Compressed into little nice tip's, for people who are starting with Kindle Passive Income Stream, like my self.. Every now and then it's god to refer to some one elses teachings, it gives my statements more value !!!

Obviously you are not a newbie in Kindle Branch, and you'we seen it all :)
Then you must be aware of; if people don't get in touch with your product(trough any kind of promotion), you will earn Zero's - Simple Logic !!!
Do You Have 6 Zero's Earning's LaLore LOL, or you have at least number 1 in front of those Zeros ?! Unveil that "Holy Grail ebook Marketing" of Yours, and add more value to this thread..

This thread is about sharing experiences, I'm Sharing Mine and Referring on other People Experiences, and what you are doing is complaining about me being positive and outcome for Better Success, to all BHW Kindle Interest Group Users !!!
Be Part of That Solution LaLore, Not Part of The Problem !!!

I Approve This Message;

LMAO...

The shouting I referred to was your post formatting.

No, I do not have 6 figure earnings in publishing nor do I have a #1 best seller. Ahhh...don't have the Holy Grail of book marketing either and NEVER stated that I did. I've yet to past the 4 figure/mth mark with my books. It's obvious that you're taking my suggestions as complaining. Since you seem to think I'm part of the problem, I'll leave and let you continue on with your Cliff Notes version of "Becoming A Kindle Bestseller". <== BTW, that's not experience, just knowledge.

Good luck to you and everyone pursuing the kindle "dream". But remember, you at least have to write a book.

NOTE: Learn more about reader book discovery.

You said and I quote;
that I'm not uncovering the Holy Grail of book marketing.
Since you have all the tool's, and right knowledge, and written book's behind you - please I urge you to share your experience here, nothing else..

I am glad you are making deacent earnings from ebook publishing LaLore
:)
I will stick* to the Thread Topic, and stop smudging with you - even if it's constructive criticism, every now and then we tried to use sarcasm to make a point, You did it, I did it as well.
Let'z leave that a side, please please please.

Yes I totally agree, I need to write a book, since I'm Lame in that section, And I am for real LOL, need to know more about book structure(fabula) if I want to do it my self..
I am getting better, and goin' in that direction LaLore, leaving snail trails behind me, on this thread - as well as on my personal writing skill'z, at the same time learning from Eagle22's 12week challenge :)

Thank You on your NOTE, as soon as I read your suggestion to learn more about "reader book discovery", started typing in google search exact keywords, and just look down on what I'w bumped ;)

Are You Proud On Me, look not even one Cliff Note ?

Hello everyone! How are you ?:D
I wanted to let you know that 1 had my first kindle sale today but approaching a different strategy.
If I keep getting sales maybe I will post the whole strategy.
Have a great day!

That's great sirmattheww!! Can't wait to hear about your strategy!

I will be checking and updating my stats for you guys tomorrow. I am only allowing myself to check my stats once per week so I don't get distracted haha. I should have my third book for this week finished by tonight which will bring me up to 10 books. Woohoo! :)

Week 4 Sunday Update

Books Released This Week: 3

Sales This Week: 4

Borrows This Week: 3

I am at a total of 10 books now. I also raised the price of my books from 2.99 to 5.97. So even though I got the same amount of sales last week, I made almost twice as much.

Going to try to put out another 3 books this week. Hoping to get to at least 1 sale per day pretty soon!

Week 5 Sunday Update

Books Released This Week: 3

Sales This Week: 16

Borrows This Week: 0 (strange?)

I thought the fact that I didn't get any borrows this week was a little strange, but considering the fact that I got 16 sales this week at a price point of $5.97, i'll take it :). So that means this week I made right around 66 dollars. Hopefully within another 8-10 weeks I will be making that every day!

My goal for this coming up week is to write two longer books (about 20,000 words each) and see if doubling the amount of pages each book has will result in more sales or if I should stick to writing books around 10,000 words.

Week 6 Sunday Update:

Books released this week: 1

Sales this week: 12

Borrows this week: 2

The sales went down this week because my book that sold the most last week (had 10 of the 16 sales) didn't get a single sale this week because it got a 1 star review. This really upsets me because that review isn't even from an Amazon Verified Purchaser so it's just my competition trying to make my book look bad. Anyone know how to handle situations when you get a bad review from someone who didn't even purchase or download the book?

I only released one book this week because it was a 30,000 page book and took me all week to write. I am going to put some extra time into promoting it.

Now that it is my half way point to my 12 week mark, I really like to take a step back and review everything to see what I can do to improve. I am receiving a TON of free downloads every time I put my books out for free and so far all 14 or my books are on the same niche. I am going to take advantage of this by creating a product in this niche, putting together a squeeze page, and creating a sales video.

If I get just 5% of the people who download my books on free days to sign up for my mailing list, I will be able to build up a HUGE list very quickly. I will send the traffic straight to my squeeze page, then once they sign up I will take them directly to my sales video page.

My goal here is still to put out a ton of kindle books and get a lot of sales via kindle, but I couldn't resist the opportunity to use these books to build an email list and try to convert them into sales on a $27 product.

Because of this I will be putting this 12 week Kindle challenge on pause for a week to get everything else set up. Once everything is set up (squeeze page, sales video, getting product created, and auto responder follow up emails written) I will continue to put out Kindle books. Hopefully this goes according to plan!

I'm sorry, but just spitting out what someone ELSE has come up with doesn't mean you are "sharing experiences" in this thread. You have not published a single Kindle title, so to come onto this thread with such false confidence seems laughable.

Nobody is complaining about you being positive. What people ARE complaining about if your lack of commonsense internet etiquette (ie. unnecessarily "shouting" by using all caps) and your acting like you know what you are talking about just because you read a few guides on Kindle publishing.

The best contribution you could have possibly made is to simply give the link of the Kindle product you were talking about. Anything additional doesn't add any value to the conversation.

You need to spend 3.5 DIGESTING Kindle info before you attempt to write something? That's the exact reason why most fail with Kindle publishing. Instead of spending most of their time on the highly valuable task of creating/writing the content, people like you go the easy route and continue to do "research" indefinitely, never publishing a damn thing. God, you'll talk about HOW to properly publish on Kindle to the cows come home, but you aren't doing it from the position of experience.

You are just a reader. And there's nothing wrong with that. Most people are simply readers.

But in a conversation about WRITING for Kindle, you probably should keep your mouth closed. You have nothing to add.

100Bones

P.S. I have published 20+ Kindle titles. That's why your posts (and your reaction to others calling you out) has gotten my attention.

Hi

About the neg review you could check and see what other reviews they have posted, to see what how they are posting etc, could also give amazon a nudge about it, otherwise what i would do is get a verified purchaser to put up a review saying something along the lines " i just had to post this review it was such a good read and i am not sure what book the last reviewer read but he definitely did not read this one , or somthing along those lines and leave 4 stars

you dont want to get too involved yourself etc never looks good

hope it helps

Hey man,

enjoyed your thread, thanks for posting. I have 7 books on Kindle at the moment (all non-fiction) and I am writing more (though not at your insane pace :)). Pulling in maybe $120 a month, most of that from my best book (longer and better than the others).

Through trial and error, I discovered the main problem with putting out quick, short books: you will get those 1 star reviews... your sales will tank, and many of your fast books will become useless.

I found the best way is The Middle Path, which you seem to realize as well: write books that are longer and better than the short kindle that people typically put out... but they don't have to be as long as the regularly published books. I'd say 50 to 150 pages, with a price tag $3.99 and up.

A.

This Thread Made me Thinking on how to Divide and Structure Writing Process, and I am thankful on that Eagle22 I really am :)
LaLore Thank You for suggesting me to start plotting and outlining, I am getting near to start doing that.
You could say that I'm Kinda Guru for Kindle Promotion, and a Newbie for Writing eBook's LOL, isn't that Wierd or what !!!

You are really a funny fellow. You just rewrite old information and think that you are the king of book marketing. But you have never proofed these amaaazing methods.

Basically, it is not wrong to learn about a business before starting. But you can not teach other people if you have NO experiences with this business.

I can understand that you are fully enthusiastic about the Kindle businness. You prepare yourself very well and that's great. But you forgot one important point: Planning is not everything!

If you want to prepare everything perfectly (website, amazon shop plugin, facebook, twitter, subscribe to 200 book boards and so on), you will never start to make money! All the time in which you prepare yourself is a waste of money. The trick is to start the business and to optimize during the ongoing process/while you are already making money. Success is a slow process. You can not be successful from 0 to 100. You first have to deliver a good product. Then you can build everything around it. It makes no sense eg. to set up a Facebook-, Twitter-, Instagram-account (and maybe to buy followers) or build a great HQ website ...if you have no or just only a few products to sell.

You are not an expert. Just because I read the manual of my TV, I am far away from being a television technician and can tell other people how it works.

Instead of learning about the kindle business, you should better read the basic literatur of success!!!

You a far away from a "guru for kindle promotion". Everything you know are old basics that can be applied to almost any business. If you are reading a book about medicine, do you think also that you're a doctor, right? LOL

I really hope the OP comes back to update. I just read all the posts but now wished I had just jumped to the last posting. Feels just like when I've found the last chapter torn out of a good paperback. :) Still wishing him good luck!

I'd love to hear more here. Even if Eagle just comes back and says "I stopped at 10 books and make about $50/month". He was already a success story on his last post.
