What's up guys, this is my first post here so I figured I would start off with a little intro. I am not new to IM, I was part of another popular forum but got fed up with it (I am sure you guys all know which one I am talking about haha). I have focused mostly on adsense for the past year or so and am consistently makin 100+ per day with it.

However, I decided to do a Kindle challenge for a few reasons. The first reason is because I have seen a lot of hard workers have success with Kindle. The second reason is because I want to add to my income source. Right now Adsense is my only income source and I want something else just in case something happens there...don't want to put all my eggs in one basket ;)

So I will be working my butt off in this 12 week challenge. The goal is to produce three books per week (all non-fiction and at least 10,000 words) which will give me 36 books by the end of the challenge.

I will be doing everything myself except for creating the cover. I will outsource that at Fiverr.

Some of you might be wondering what my goals are for income. To be totally honest, I am not a fan of setting income goals. I prefer to set goals that focus on taking action and just trust that the money will follow. That is exactly how I got to 100 dollars per day with Adsense and I believe that approach will work for Kindle as well. If I upload 36 high quality books I have no doubt in my mind the money will follow. For example. If each book just get's me one sale per day and I price them all at $2.99 that will be about $2.09 per sale (Amazon will take 30%). So after 12 weeks I would be making almost $75 per day...that doesn't even include all the money I would get from borrows.

So right now I am not going to worry about money at all, the only thing I have on my mind is producing 36 high quality books. If I do that and see a good amount of money coming in, I will then scale it up by outsourcing just about everything.

Don't worry, I won't abandon this thread. I am a very hard worker and will check this thread just about every day to answer any questions and keep you guys updated every Sunday.

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

P.S. If you guys are interested in Adsense I would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have on that as well. One of the main reasons I left the other forum was because I got tired of people who had success make a product out of it and sell it. I believe if you already are successful you should give back to the community who supported you, not sell them a product :).

P.P.S If anyone wants to join me in this challenge please feel free to. We can hold each other accountable!!!

For your first post, I have to say I am impressed (which I don't say often).

I like your mindset, your priorities, your attitude... the fact that you hate warrior forum, I just hope that you really DO stick your goal. For your own benefit cause you sound like a smart person.

& good luck with your thread. I'll be keeping a close watch. =]

Thanks LaLore! I am not really following any system. I spent a lot of time reading some of the journals here on on BHW about people taking on Kindle. It seems like the ones who are successful are the ones who put their head down and write. They don't seem to get caught up in any of the details.

10,000 words will be a lot, but I am writing about a topic I am passionate about and I know that if I put in a lot of hard work during the next 12 weeks it will pay off big time in the future.

To motivate myself I just do google image searches of some of my dream cars, dream vacation spots, dream homes, ect. After drooling over those images for 10 minutes or so I am motivated to start writing again ;)

    I like you already :)

I've always been interested in making money with Kindle so I will definitely be following your journey closely. There were a few other Kindle journeys here but they never seem to be updated, I'm happy that you're going to updated this on a regular basis.
Adsense is another area I would like to explore after I finish up my other projects, I'll be having some questions for you, that's for sure.

I wish you the very best in your Kindle adventure!

Thanks for checking in, Eagle, that's a good intro.

I've been interested in Kindle for a while myself since one of the few things I can do is write. :)

Subscribing to this thread and I am anxious to see how it works out for you. Best of luck!

I will be following! I have been following other threads on kindle and trying to gear myself up to start a book, and build from there. I have been stuck in "planning" mode too long, trying to research niches, formatting, and decide what type of book to start with (non-fiction vs fiction). I just need to kick myself into gear and do it. I'd love to connect on skype and maybe even be held accountable and do this along with ya! Good luck!

Thanks Kinlee! Yeah I have read a few other journals about Kindle, I learned a lot by reading all the posts in GobBluth's thread, seems like a very smart man! I like the idea of it because you don't have to worry about SEO or anything like that and if you enroll in the KDP Select program it seems like Amazon actually does not a lot for you.

Feel free to ask any questions regarding Adsense :)

Ok so I have some family visiting tomorrow so I knew I wouldn't get much work done tomorrow so I decided to write a full book today. Was around 11,000 words. Just uploaded it to KDP, hopefully it will be live sometime tomorrow!

    1 down, 35 to go ;)

Good Luck! I'm actually interested in Kindle but haven't really seen any journeys worth following. But hopefully you will keep it updated. I've been considering writing a book or two for kindle but before now it was just to get a novel idea onto paper (or epaper haha) but if this journey turns into a good moneymaker I may have to change my goals for my book haha.

Ps. I pmed you about your offer on adsense haha.

How are you marketing your books? And do you have specific topics in which you write? If you wouldn't mind sharing some of your titles I'd love to purchase one or two for research. :)

Great question NikeAutoBot. I have signed up for a free membership at Author Marketing Club and I am submitting my books to all those sites on my free days. I also have a list of facebook groups that I have joined and will be submitting to those the first day my books goes free. I am hoping to get enough momentum from free downloads to carry over into sales.

Ok so as I thought I wasn't able to get much work done today due to my family members visiting. However, I did set my book to go free for 5 days in exactly one week from now. I also submitted my book information to all the sites at Author Marketing Club letting them know my book will be free in a week from now. Hopefully that will result in some more downloads.

Ok 1 week has gone by and here is my Sunday update:

    Week 1 Sunday Update:
    Books Released This Week: 3
Sales This Week: 0 (as expected)

This week I managed to write three books, the books ranged from 9,000 words to 13,000 words and they were all in the health and fitness category.

I have all the books set to go free for 5 days this week. One of them will be free Monday-Friday, another one will be free Wednesday-Sunday, and my last one will be free Friday-Tuesday. Right when the books became "live" I submitted them to a bunch of "freebie notification" sites and I have more sites that I will be submitting them to (mostly Facebook groups) the day they go free.

Obviously I didn't get any sales this week, and I won't be getting any next week either because my books will be free during the week, but I am hoping I can get at least 800-1,000 free downloads per book!

    This Weeks Goals:
*Write and submit three more high quality books
******* those books to free book submission sites
*Keep a positive and motivated mindset!!! :)
