    Hello all!

This is my 3rd time trying to start media buying with Sweepstake Offers, Surveys & even some adult. I never had a positive ROI because i simply gave up to fast. I know that it's all about consistency in CPA and Media Buying but i somehow always lose motiviation.

I was trying 2 offers from Peerfly yesterday, both didn't do really well. Because i know that i am going to lose a lot of money with CPM, i was going for CPC, so i can see how i can improve my ads on the CTR.

Im currently using PropellerAds Banner as type of advertising, with 1 Campaign i got about 42000 Impressions and roundabout 500 Clicks with 1 Conversion. That was a sweepstake offer which i promoted on Peerfly.

Now how do i go and optimize it?

I had the following ideas in mind:

    1) Make my own Banner and try them out
    2) Optimize the Title and Text on the PropellerAds Banner
    3) Try out a different offer? Or even try out several offers at once?

Also, when do you decide that an offer/banner/text ad is just not converting, when do you decide to change something up, do you have a certain CTR or CR Rate in mind that when you decide its time to move on onto another offer?

Another Question i have would be an estimate to what CTR or CR Rate is usually expected with 42000 Impressions, what kind of CTR should i aim for?

I know these are a lot of question but i would be very thankful to everyone that could help me with this

    best regards

500 clicks it's a good sign, the problem is with the offer LP, that does not convert, or it's look scammy, too good to be true...
Did you tried Sweepstake Offers with pop-up ads, pop under ads??

Propeller ads is a pretty bad and low-quality ad network.
CPC is not always better than CPM, I usually see the opposite.

Depending on where you buy traffic from you can target specific users to show ads to, even have a list of IP's to target not just by specific persona by location, education, salary, and work role. In this case, you target a specific conversion price.

It was direct linking, would you suggest me to stick to landing pages or direct linking? Or just both and test out which works better?

Never tried Pop Ads, i might give it a try if you say so.

I am not that comfortable with CPM yet, i think i will just burn my money very quickly as seen with 42k Impressions and only 500 clicks.

Do you have a better network that you could suggest other than PropellerAds? Any suggestion i will appreciate!

Hallo Heiko, I was doing something similar once for an adult offer. I remember I spent around $70 just to make $20. I was testing 6 different banners against each other. Some where doing well some not. I was also tracking my conversions so I knew which banner got the conversion. I was paying on the CPM basis. Once I had some data I would kill the bad performing banners. I was also testing different banner spots on the website.

    Ty for ur answer!

Did you create the banners yourself? Or did you just use the pre sampled banners that came with the campaign? Also did you use a landing page or direct linking?
I am having the problem that i don't know where i should start with the optimization... i think i should start with several landing pages + direct linking split test and a bunch of banners and ad variations?

-I don't recommend using direct linking, use always a Pro converting LP, and keep changing the LPs tell you find a good one that convert.
    -Change PropellerAds, it's a low-quality ad network.
-Pop-up work good on Gaming niche!

    1 - Don't direct link. Always use a pre-lander
2 - PropellerAds isn't for begginers, maybe try an easier source
3 - Peerfly usually rebrokers a bunch of offers, so you may be getting only a small fraction of the actual payout which means you can never seriously compete against other media buyers who have their own offers
4 - Try to deal with a product owner directly if you can instead of going through a cpa network. If you can't, talk with your aff manager and see what offers are really hot right now
5 - Use spy tools to see how other people are promoting similar offers
6 - Be prepared to lose money. 1 conversion doesn't mean shit. I can't give you a golden ration, but think of it this way, if you have 1 offer with a payout of $5, 1 source, 1 country and 1 lander, I would test AT least $30 to $50 on it to see if its worth my time. Add another lander, you're now looking at $60 to $100 in test (x2). Add more landers, more sources, more countries, etc and you get the idea of how quickly it can add up.
7 - Make sure your hosting is solid. Not some cheap shared server. Make sure your landers don't have PHP or anything server intensive. Create HTML + Javascript only pages. Host them on a CDN.
8 - Get a tracker like Binom to track your expenses and conversions.
    9 - again, stop sending direct :p

That's just to start. There is a lot more you can do, but master these 9 points and you've got some good basics to start generating your first profitable campaign.

    These are basics, and also the most things you should consider;

1- your lp should be opened ligtening fast if its a pop ad.
2- Many offers/networks shave, and many many bot/blind traffic in pop ads business. Only select most converted sites.

Peerfly is great, but they're giveaway email submits always converted the worst for me. Try split testing similar offers from other networks and see if that helps/

Can you recommend me a good Ad Network?
Amazing, thank you for this long list. Same question for you if you dont mind answering this, can you recommend me a good Ad Network?

Besides Peerfly i could also use MaxBounty or OGAds but im not really into the CPAGame that much so i don't know all the good affiliate networks there, ill take a look around tho.

Currently i am tracking with BeMob, probably not the best solution yet but atleast its a tracker lol.

Well, which network doesn't shave, its quite common i guess

The biggest problem is to just find a good converting offer i guess.

    _______

A couple more questions if you don't mind answering:

Do you create the banners on your own/outsource this or do you use the premade banners? I think the premade banners would be a waste of money as well as direct linking am i right?
