anyone notice how they are doing away with a lot of search terms?
i use to be ranked 4 ways, for an example
nyc haircuts
haircuts nyc
etc, etc
but now,
nyc haircuts doesnt show a 'local places'
just haircuts nyc
(fyi, nyc haircuts are just 2 random things that pop'd into my head)

Yeah, I definitely have noticed this over the past month. It seems pretty simple to allow the local maps to pull up for both search phrases, but they don't. I still can't figure out why...maybe it has something to do with the search volume (or lack of it) for a particular phrase.
Did you all see the new local listings layout? Looks like the regular serps now except some have a photo by them. I think this will definitely reduce the number of clicks most people get now (as oppose to the old 7 box).
I see they're showing both the old and new way so it might just be an experiment.

Can i just ask why the thread would be shut down...Its basically white hat, local seo strategies being thrown around by mainly junior and regular members...whats the harm?
