[Instagram Update] What does this mean for bots like FollowLiker

Just saw that Instagrams new update will completely restrict 3rd parties from commenting.
It will also remove the news feed for third party websites such as Iconosquare.

This means absolutely nothing for any worthy bot.
Unless they implemented some functionality through the public API, but even that can be fixed in a matter of hours.

While I won't argue that it is something special to amass a total of ~12M followers across his accounts, I'm not sold on that alone. Why? In that video, he derides "follow & unfollow" methods because those people will "ultimately turn into ghost followers" and basically pitches he's got better methods.

If he has better methods than "follow & unfollow" which hesays just yields ghost followers, he must have some crazy engagement numbers, right?

Wrong! This guy has the same fucking 1% engagement rate that 99% of all large accounts (botted or otherwise) get on Instagram. o_O

So, what exactly is in this $500 package that can't be learned from just soaking in the IM library that is BHW?

I think it's more a question about legality, his methods are inside the Instagram ToS while botting is bannable.

Instagram coul potentially pursue legal action if he sells $500 guides pushing people to break Instagrams rules. The power is not in the engagement it's in the sheer numbers he has.

Having six accounts with 1 million followers and getting 20k likes on each sounds better than 1 account with 6m followers and 100k likes from an advertising perspective, thus making companies pay more.

Right on! My thinking too. These guys that spill "Instagram Genius Ideas", yet have the same type of accounts like all the others. ie. Low engagement (less than 4%), and having to "sell" ebooks, etc., to make a living, since their "influencer" account is not cutting it.

I have more respect for those that only take photos next to merchandise, put some clothing on, have a watch or drink in their hand, and that's it. Those guys know how to make money. Not writing ebooks, having to schlep from auditorium to auditorium giving hour or two, long speeches to make money. Click-Post-Pay Me, can't argue with that.

Exactly ! I think the same as you both, @madwhips is one of his accounts right ? Look at the engagement: max 22 comments per picture, usually he gets no more than 10 comments on a post ... this is ridiculous. Ghost followers ? or Fake followers ? it doesn't matter, the engagement is shit. I'm sure he makes pretty good money tho from these accounts + clueless people.

Legality is not much of a selling point, considering we are on BHW.

The power is not in the engagement it's in the sheer numbers he has.

Pretty much anybody who's been here for a week can build multiple 5-6 figure accounts with a bot, image scraper, a couple of proxies and a year or so. The real magic is building something with 3% or higher engagement.

So, what exactly is he offering if he can't do that?

Having six accounts with 1 million followers and getting 20k likes on each sounds better than 1 account with 6m followers and 100k likes from an advertising perspective, thus making companies pay more.

Does he teach you how to find advertisers to monetize these accounts? That alone might be worth the $500 if it's a great lesson complete with its own section (i.e. NOT an afterthought or pitch for another product) in networking/sales.

Yes and no. He has multiple accounts in case Instagram bans one or more of them. That way, he won't lose everything. He knows he's not on the up-and-up. Having multiple accounts takes more time than just having one account. You're spreading your losses in case you get hit.
Come on, it's the same reason why most of us have 3, 10, or 100 accounts. And don't tell me it's easier than just having 1 account.

As to brands, they prefer one huge account with many likes, instead of 5,6 or 7 with smaller audiences and likes.

It's just like advertising in the Super Bowl or FIFA Championship game. Do you think sponsors would rather pay for smaller venues, where they can advertise on the NCAA #1-2 Bowl, Indoor Football Championship, or fill-in-the-blank High School Championship game (or Africa Cup, Asia Cup, or Copa Oro, Instead of FIFA Championship) at the same price?

so is followliker dead or not because I am about to buy it otherwise.

what is this 500 dollar guide? seriously wtf

That's the thing, why woul he get banned? He can just keep expanding and use accounts to boost new accounts.
And as for brands it depends a lot really, some want more spread out exposure and some want more centered promotion.

Another "guru" who self-proclaimed prophet "who saw something before anybody, even before Instagram itself". Come one is very obvious the only intend of the video is to promote his $500 silver bullet "Instawealth Growth System".

The interesting part about this is that I was on a celebrity gossip forum a few weeks ago and a commenter over there who works in advertising said the "influencer" era is beginning to crack. Advertisers are not getting the expected returns on their investment after throwing money and products at large social media accounts.

Like someone already said above, 1% engagement on Instagram is not cutting it. Especially when advertisers have been paying hundreds and thousands of dollars to promote their products on large Instagram accounts and the conversions don't come through.

The commenter also said 30-day notices have already gone out to many "influencers" letting them know their services will no longer be needed. Here is one of the articles that was posted:

Yes there's a whole chapter dedicated to monetizing.

Yes, I've seen that and other articles about the influencer bubble. It's crap. What's going to happen is that many so-called influencer networks will go down. These networks/middlemen are getting the bulk of the money, not the influencers.

Brands, will now go directly to the influencers and cut the middlemen. - My opinion.

I laugh everytime I hear how brands are paying thousands of dollars to infuencers. Most influencers make between $60-$200, 1-3 times per month, if they have 3k-75k followers and 300-4k likes per image. The huge accounts of 1M and over do make $5K-$15K and over, but we know those are few in between. And it's not like they're getting $5K-$15K for every image posted. It's more like 1-2 times per month.

Brands will save money by going direct, and the influencer will make more money since there will be no middleman, except if the influencer is big enough to have his/her own agent. But, influencer networks will be going down in numbers.

Can anyone give me a list of names for some good instagram bots? I had Instafire but it recently stopped working. I just need something really basic. Not looking to spend much money.

So, what exactly is in this $500 package that can't be learned from just soaking in the IM library that is BHW?

Exactly. There are literally only so many things you can do on IG to grow accounts organically and we know all of them. The ONLY information would be a guaranteed way to get on the explore page now that they changed the feed up. But even in that sense getting to the explore page is essentially useless now since it is based on user interactions and not based off popularity of instagram posts, therefore limiting your audience.
I used to be able to get on the explore page on a few of my accounts back before they changed the feed up and it honestly only brought in about 10% increase in follows/likes/comments. I don't think anyone really goes on and uses the explore page like Instagram wants them to; they check their personal feed and their out.
IMO, the only reason to want to hit the explore page is to go viral, but you need funny videos and memes now a days to have people wanting to tag their friends. So the explore page is a lose lose unless your niche is memes, which in that case that's embarrassing.
