Google Update - May 27th 2022 - What I Have Noticed

Even I noticed the same, all my rankings went down that didn't had any backlinks. And all other website with low quality backlinks started ranking above me.
This will not last long. Once the update is finally over, websites with good links will start appearing on top.

Everything changed after this update, I did not understand yet what is required for , bad results when searching, the number of visitors in Google Analytics is incorrect
When I log in to real time I see that there are 4 visitors from the Google search engine, but there are actually 20
I hope they reconsider it

new sites are getting higher rank in my niche, their content not even that good

To summarise my findings -

Very good quality content with strong pbn links seems to be working for me.

(Hope I'm not talking too soon)
You are absolutely correct. Do you use the same server but different IPs for you PBN websites?

Hi guys, I just thought I would share my findings up to now.....

Content quality seems to be the determining factor in my rankings.

I have 2 websites.

1 site is losing rankings (good quality content)

1 site is gaining rankings (best quality content)

View attachment 212175

I wrote the content for both of my websites.

My second site (the one that is gaining rankings) has better quality content than the first (since I got better at writing over time).

This could just be coincidence, but its something I've noticed.

Maybe this is to combat websites pumping out tons of mediocre AI content ?

What seems to be the constant is that for no apparent rhyme or reason, non major sites all got shoved down 40+%. The other notice is that these sites largely are just regular sites. The interesting thing is, no one "big SEOS" are talking about it, why, what it is, what it targeted..its a big hush hush, its dark days

I think it is to early to say anything about the update because it is so confusing for all of us. Even the biggest SEO in Germany could not answere my request about the Update which he normally can.

One other SEO in Germany said while the Update was not fully rolled out that specialists are winning while generalists are losing. But i have to say that this is not what I experince when I watch the SERPs. It is more like the opposite.

I hope the generalists/specialists sentence is understandable. English is not my native Language.

Tell us something new. ;)
I think they still rolling back some shit, maybe im wrong, either way i wasnt affected by this one thank god. Staying humble.

i hope you guys recover.

Indeed this week saw some major fluctuations. SEMrush is showing as well.

Overall, from this update traffic may not be down or such sort. But revenue is down totally.

For traffic as such as this that we are getting now. Adsense would have easily paid $0.10-$0.30 eCPM.. But now it's down to $0.02-$0.05

I'm not seeing much recovery on my main site (mostly informational). I got like 10% back a few days ago and thought "here we go!", but nothing changed. Snippets continue to disappear (only slower), and the way they disappear is weird. As if the keywords jump up a bit in rankings to above #5, then jump to #1 as before, but then I lose them again. Most keywords are still dropping, heavily, not just 1 or 2 positions down, but 5 to 10. The site is whitehat.

My traffic is down about 60% compared to before this update. Ad revenue down 50-60%. Traffic quality was shit for the past 2 weeks, now seems slightly better, but today is shit again. I guess when Google decides to let some "real" traffic in, then it becomes better. Either that, or their algo is testing, or they're sending me testers and the rest is zombie traffic.

Don't want to provide any false hope but maybe sites hit in the update will come back around at some point. Sadly the recovery didn't happen on my main site yet but it did for one of my small neglected affiliate sites.

The core of it is that it's unnatural for your site to just disappear without some sort of penalty being reported. I figure they are likely reevaluating content. However, take this with a grain of salt that we may never recover till the next update so instead of hoping, go and start working on your other projects while doing slight maintenance on your sites that got hit (add a few info articles per month, etc)

Edit: This post is for people that saw their keywords disappear overnight. If you simply lost rankings then just consider yourself 100% impacted and work on links and new content. For others like me with disappearing keywords, keep your fingers crossed and keep it moving.

Also note, I'm noticing a pattern that sites that ranked highly for terms with a lot of SERP features, especially if your site had a lot of them mostly saw the disappearing keywords.

This is what I'm experiencing from 11AM PST yesterday. I was increasing in keyword rankings and traffic until 11AM PST yesterday, my main keywords are all of a sudden "Lost" in ahrefs and when I do a spot check in Google. No manual action penalty, no messages in GSC, at 50% traffic of what i'm normally at, AND im in the middle of a sale...

Wondering what an algorithmic penalty looks like. Does it deindex all pages? Because that's not what I'm experiencing, just a bunch of high search volume keywords disappearing from the rank, but still indexed.

Hi mate, what you described is exactly what happened to me at exact same time yesterday.

About 50% of traffic is down. None of the pages has been deindexed but lost more than 60% of the main keywords ranks.

I'm literally in fucking tears.

Btw, most of the keywords that have stayed are in high-ranking positions such as 1-3. Anyone has the same?

Do all of your sites that got affected, got hit on the same day?

when I removed Ai content, my serp is a bit improved, from 2 keywords in top 10 increased to 7 keywords

Which day your site(s) got hit?
Roughly Wednesday 8th June to that weekend.

Impressions (purple) have doubled. Clicks decreased. CTR decreased. Average position decreased. All which have been stable for quite some time.

The quality of the traffic is garbage. Conversion rate has been halved.

We'll give the website some fine tuning, but the UX was perfectly fine before this. Time to get back to basics.

Let's wait and see if this is temporary or there are other factors.
