How to know if a domain name is clean?

After verifying your domain in GSC, you can check penalties under manual action.

I linked the domain to Search Console, i checked for "Manual issues" and "Security Issues" and there weren't any! And there doesn't seem to be any data in the web archive for it.

Check with its history, backlink profile(avoid if it has spammy backlinks), anchor text used, referring domains, this will give a better idea about the domain.

1) I use ahrefs dashboard to check
- check referring domains and check their DR status
- head to Backlinks ( new / lost / broken )
- head to archive org wayback machine and check what has the site been all about.
2) Is it topical ( related to the domain itself ) or there is funny language ( Russian / Chinese content )
3) Moz spam checker also is a good route
4) go to google search bar and type in: site:domainnameinquestion.com and see what results you get. Spammy backlinks will result in obvious results
5) go to google search bar and type in: domainname (space) com and press enter and check what results you get

If you follow all these steps, you will get a fair idea about whether that domain is worth it or is junk stuff

I have another domain that has a really powerful backlink, however there is a dozen that are spammy. What if disavow the other bad backlinks through Google Search Console, will that helps? Will i still be able to use it? Despite the fact that from what i checked in the web archive i found out that there was some chinese content, but after a couple of years it changed its content and got a great backlink.

Is it still worth it and usable in your opinions?

There’s nothing called perfection actually so spammy content / backlinks cannot be avoided. Yes disavow those harmful backlinks and the domain would surely get tidier.

Newly acquired domain. Actually, the backlinks point to your newly acquired site, and that site points to your main site. So, clean the spammy links at their origin before the link juice passes to your main site. It's even better if you could get them removed.

I'm not sure though if it's possible that links from old forum posts can be removed.

But i did as advised and disavowed all domains of those irrelevant site from the newly acquired site. Thank you very much for the advice

Check the domain backlink profile whether is has spammy links or not if it is there trying to remove it before the link-juice go to your main site. Don't forget to check the DR and all the contents are related to the site, Spam score etc.
