Every time I created something on the internet, it didn't take off.
Once I sold an item and then nothing happened.
With another endeavour I regularly post content and very rarely people buy.

I wonder what I need to do in general to keep a sustainable business.

To make the sales not die out but increase.

It seems like an endless trial and error and when you are totally off with your ideas, you can waste years with nothing going on.

Each project I created ended dead on delivery.

I tried keyword research, writing about topics people "should" care about based on searches, applied different methods from here(see my previous posts), yet it all seems pointless.

I always have the impression to be wasting my time and sometimes money.

I am so sick of yet again creating another website, putting my time in it for it to then again not be visited. I write about it on forums, either it gets banned as spam or people watch it once to never come back.

I see that also with my instagram posts. Rarely do people interact. But at least I see which posts are performing better.

It is just frustrating without a real guide or good ideas.

Welcome to IM. No income stream is evergreen, even if the product is.

You always need to look at the next thing while maintaining past projects.

And never stop developing diversification; don't just do one type of project.

That should be what differentiates White Hat from Black Hat. White hat should be sustainable.

How long did you work on each website before giving up on them? And did you build any links to them? Also what was your keyword research strategy?

This is what it is, its always going to be like that, my advise is to find the sweet spot, what not re-evaluate what you are doing, could it be that you are targeting a wrong niche/ kws.... could be it you are doing something wrong? sit down and write what you have been doing and what are the similarities or differences in each project and where did it go wrong, you need to find that to stop doing the "wrong" parts. Not that I'm in a better place than yours but I did find that I'm not targeting a good niche recently, I'm getting sick of it and I'm in a process to use the experience I have acquired and use it to the best, research your competitors and see how much they are doing, spy, spy, spy and if they are doing much better than you and you like what they are doing then by all mean COPY them as a start and then find your sweet spot to do BETTER than them.
Welcome to the world of ups/ downs = this is our world and we got used to it.

Free market does not care about hardship of the individual. Some people are making money, because they are better than you.
More and more people want to sit on their asses and not be someones slave. That's not easy at all. It never was.
Sometimes people love to talk how easy it is to appear superior. Don't fall for it.

There are some pages that not only have great names in their portfolio, but are also still there and it's unclear as to why. To compete with them, I need access to those big firms. Those big firms always have a department solely for rejecting other companies trying to work with them as in
  1. you call
  2. they say "Write an email"
  3. you write an email and never hear from them.
How to handle this shit?

White hat businesses fail all the time. The market doesn't care how hard you work or what you think you deserve which sounds harsh but that's the game. The reason blackhat is attractive is because it has less commitment and, in some ways, less risk.

Also, the definition of blackhat vs whitehat varies from person to person until it's almost meaningless anyway. If you're doing so much as outreaching for backlinks you're already blackhat by some definitions.

Forget the label, focus on a working strategy and go from there.

You get a better pitch for them or move on.

Without knowing exactly what you're doing nobody is going to give you exact advice but it kind of sounds like you're trying a little bit of everything. Super bad idea unless you have the budget to hire in help. Bringing in traffic by SEO, social or paid ads are all disciplines by themselves. Any of them could build seven-figure businesses and none of them are easy.

Pick one. Look at what the winners are doing and replicate that. See what works and what doesn't. Adjust. Test. Read everything you can on the subject. Test some more. Give it 6 months and see if it starts to work.

No.

Google Keyword Tool, High volume, mediocre competition. Autocomplete. Taking suggested search results in google at the bottom of the first page.

Did you rank top 3 for any of the keywords you were targeting?

Read the book "Cashvertising" (search "cashvertising pdf") after reading all the book try facebook ads with a good product.

Let's just pick a random website that has been around for some time, like ahrefs.com. Why can they afford to demand a higher price than others and still get paid? What can you copy from their website to use on your website?

If I was, people would have come.

Why are you targeting big firms, these will never do business with you unless you have a great/ unique/ patented something. I'm not sure what type of business are you in, you need to mention it here so we can help better, it is obvious to me that you are not doing it right from the way how you answered me, if you need us to help you, spill the details so we can advise better.

Ok well I think in terms of SEO it's fairly obvious where the mistake is then.

If you've wrote loads of content but don't rank anywhere then you either need to buy/build links to the content or go after easier keywords.

Use something like answer the public that will show you more longer longtail keywords.

Also as others have said, focus on one traffic source to begin with then once you feel like you've mastered it start diversifying for safety.

Good luck :-)
