Do not be surprised if someday those comissions turns to 0%, probably not in the near future. Just make money with them while you can and switch slowly to another alternatives.

Any comments on this

I am not surprised with this new commission rate.
I removed all Amazon affiliate links from my sites a month ago. I just don't want my hard-work get paid by potatoes lunch.
I will back when they paid well again.

In India Amazon don't have a monopoly. So they keep the same rates.

Amazon Associate Alternatives - 7 Tips during this shift in commissions

  1. Direct: Anyone who is going to be hit hard, go through your last 30 day Amazon sales report, make a list of the main brands you sell and contact them directly. Tell them you generated $xx, xxx for them in the past 30 days through Amazon (use approximate figures, as Amazon doesn't actually allow you to share the data) and tell them you are looking to work with them directly. Do your research, see if they have an affiliate program, not all of them will, but those that don't might still work with you directly.

Solid advice here from @Nad2017

Also remember this, its a great time to buy your competitors site. A lot of people are about to throw in the towel (keep an eye on flippa). Buy up their site and create a professional looking network of sites in the same niche which would give you more leverage when going direct to brands

Well, it appears that commissions will be cut once again on April 21st. Highest rate is now 3% for some shopping categories, while many have fallen to 1%.

Unreal, looks like this is going to affect a lot of people. They just sent out an email.

Yes, please AMAZON......Cut more commissions so that to get rid of all those greedy affiliate suckers :D

Hey BHWers,

https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/help/operating/compare

The commission rates are half now, this is going to impact huge on Youtubers and the guys who were running top 10 products (juicers, mixers, bed, couch, sofa and etc) (Listicles)

wow now that's just bad.. 3% to 1% only...?

But looks like its for USA Affiliate only for now.. but Indian Affiliate is gone..

How likely is it that this will stay permanent? Due to CoVid 19 i've seen A LOT of affiliate networks cut down their payouts on CPX Offers, sometimes almost -50% than normal. Maybe its just due to the current circumstances and hopefully it will recover again.
