The thread is aimed at answering peoples questions, by definition that tends to be people who are newer to social media, particularly instagram.
If you find those questions too simple you are welcome to ask one of your own. Or perhaps you know how to do everything and you could contribute your knowledge to this thread or BHW in general?
Of course I dont know everything. Moreover, I know very little to share this knowledge with others. But I think in any case in the post you wrote about known and obvious things. If this topic is more to answer the question - this is great. Good luck to you.

Yeah @GringoMonkey, I was pretty sure that some of my followers are bots and I checked. according to [that tool you mentioned] I'm on 24.8% fake followers. So that means I can really only bump it up by another 100 or so fake followers. Don't even think buying would be needed in that case as I can just go comments ons some of the top hashtag posts in some of my niches. What do you think?

The higher the ratio of real v fake followers the better your account and hopefully the higher your engagement rate. But it only massively matters at the point you try to monetize it, as that is when prospective clients start to check out your stats. So long as your at about 60% real at that stage you will be fine.
If you follow what is outlined here you will be successful and that is the point of the thread: "How to be a Successful Influencer."
The issue is the discipline to do it day after day and the time that will take.
You can speed things up and then monetize sooner.
But under the terms of BHW I am not allowed to post links to things I sell to enable that, or JV's where I can help you monetize.

I just reached a little over 1K followers with me following around 500. I get around 13% engagement rate and I scored a 91% on that audit tool you posted. How long do you figure it will be before brands start reaching out to me? I am in the personal development niche.

You have a bit of a way to go yet. Get back to me when your at 10,000 followers and lets see what your engagement level is then.

Thank you for the tips. I had a plan of becoming influencer but I keep postponing it. There are so many methods on the web and I get overwhelmed. Your post could not have come in right time! I like the tips. Yeah, I agree the key is to deliver new and freshest of contents. I have some questions. How much genuine followers one need to become a successful influencer? Which niches are the best? How much time would it take to become an influencers? My apology for so many questions. Would appreciate if you take time to answer the queries.

Becoming an influencer is not difficult. What is difficult is having the discipline to create and post day after day after day high quality content at a rate of at least 1 new post for each channel each day.
There are a few little tricks you can do to speed it up, # research, mother/child method for example. But yes, fundamentally, it is straightforward what you need to do.
I have listed the steps of what you need to do in this thread and there probably is no secret method you don't know about.
But having the discipline to follow those steps and put in sustained creative hard work is difficult. Do that and you will be successful, but it isn't overnight success.
If you want quick money, being an influencer is not the way to go. The nature of social media is you first have to become an authority or popular, you need to shift from being a follower to a leader. Else, just the same as if you have only made a few one line posts on BHW, people won't really listen to you and your not going to influence people. You need to post high quality content over a sustained period of time, that engages and resonates before people believe in you. That engagement level matters more than follower numbers.
Considering that what you have to do has to be sustainable pick a niche you enjoy and if you can expand that into something evergreen you wont go wrong. Also consider if you wish to be the face of it or do you wish to collate things, that will determine the type of posts your going to have to make.

That's exactly my problem. I just can't figure out my specific niche and work around it.
My profile started to grow organically right now. I have followers, not too bad engagement (93K and 11-12%) and I am a girl, so as you can guess, men start to follow me easily. I also have many of them who "knows" me from the start of my profile, so they are quite active.
But I can't find out my niche. I'm still turning in the circle of fitness, dance... but not real content. I will have to think about it a little bit more!

You seem to think that your advice above is useful and unknown. Be better, post often, be good, know a lot, communicate with your audience --> for whom is this a secret? I thought one should be bad, post once in a year and call their followers idiots.
