Of course it depends of you. However when you are paying for a course or couch or mentor or whatever, its quite important what information you are going to receive from them... After all you trust this people with your money for knowledge. If what they teach you is plain wrong, why are you there at all?
Not that it's wrong per say, just over priced by 100000% if I'm guaranteed and invest 10k and get a least 50% back or more what I invested, heck yea I would take some equity out and take the plunge. The problem is you don't know what you'll get unless you buy it. This is a lottery ticket situation, you buy and you either win or lose. I would never risk 10k on those kinds of unknown odds and probability, hell for all you know it could be a bunch of motivation jargon coupled with information that's already been out on the internet lmao

That would not be clever to just go and spent $10k or even $10 for the first course you see. As I stated in the comment above - it's like a university you don't go just to any university, make your research and you'll see what fits for you. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy anything, instead of getting a course person can go to google and find all the necessary information to learn.

I am friends with one guy in Germany who was founder and CEO of a $250 million business and is now giving courses. Price is around $5k-6k for two days course this includes a flight and hotel stay near the place where he lives now. I asked him why the high price and he said "the people who will "invest" this money will earn much more money with all the knowledge they get. They can learn from my experiences and mistakes".

He is the only guy I would ever buy a course from, because he made it. From nowhere to 250 million dollar business. I am sure he got lots of knowledge.

But I would never buy a course from any other marketer, which didnt got featured on Forbes, got no publicity or didn't reach anything meaningful.

There's no guarantee in life, treat it like a university - there's some shitty never heard of Pupkin University or Harvard or you can study at home. You know why Harvard is better. If you can't afford Harvard, but still need to learn you make your research and apply to another or you just get some books and study at home.
If I can learn the same information studing at home

How can someone guarantee you anything? Let's say you buy the course for $10k today, but tomorrow you decide to start drinking become an alcoholic, or you just lazy to work? When you go to school are you guaranteed to make a certain amount?

Because when you spend significant amount of money on something you're more likely to follow through. I guess that's one of the reasons why more expensive programs can have a higher success rate (as opposed to something like a $49 ebook you skim through).

Then, you (not you exactly) just have no money to spend on the course and trying to justify it to yourself/to feel better by saying it's a crap course or scam. You don't have to go to university either. There's no guarantee in anything and it's wrong to assume that you can have any kind of guarantee for 'knowledge' products. If you go to arts school they don't guarantee you'll become Picasso, you can just waste your time and money.

There's no information that you can't study at home - everything is available in google, for free.

I dealt with courses - fixed price or small price brought me lots of clients but some of them wanted to rape for every penny. I prefer to have fewer clients that pay a premium price, as this way I am able to dedicate more time, provide premuim quality, have less headache and more happy clients, and as a final result - it brings higher revenue.

I'd be weary of it honestly. Some coaches out there are really good, but for 10k you'll probably to have a solid understanding already of what they are going to help with as they'll be offering additions to your tool box.

Thank you all for such generous and logical feedback. Life is a school indeed, one learns new things everyday :)
