Here are some tips to maximize your FollowPlanner performance:
  1. Warm up your account
    Warming up your account (starting with minimal interactions, then gradually increasing over time) allows you to automate successfully. Warming up properly will also help you reach higher activity limits later.
  2. Optimize your sources
    Our built-in source manager tool allows you to see which follow source is performing the best. By filtering out low-performing sources, you are able to maximize the possibility of a follow-back.
  3. Engage with likes-after-follow
    Liking someone’s post when you follow them will significantly increase your follow-back ratio
  4. Get into engagement groups

    PRO TIP: Use the source manager tool to find accounts in your niche. Then use the “Lists” tool to DM them, asking them if they’d like to join an engagement group. If they have any questions or comments, you can personally follow-up with them in the DM tool.

Do I need proxies to run FollowPlanner?

Yes. FollowPlanner requires you to use a proxy alongside every Instagram account. We allow both IP and password authentication proxies. HTTP(S) proxies are currently supported.
This is the only requirement in order to use FollowPlanner, and it allows the platform to run smoothly.
We have some great proxy recommendations if you are interested
  1. Create your own residential proxy IP! This is the best option. However, it can be more expensive and take awhile to set up. You can also buy residential proxies.
  2. Visit a proxy supplier on the Black Hat marketplace! A lot of suppliers have special Instagram proxies available. Please note: Many proxy suppliers provide data-center proxies (not residential) and can cause issues with Instagram. Sometimes they work smoothly, and sometimes they can cause issues (like-blocking, delays, etc.). If you are receiving errors with FollowPlanner, it's typically a proxy issue. You should ask your proxy supplier for a dedicated, virgin IP in a location close to you for the best results.
Proxy issues are common with any Instagram automation tool. Here are some tips to get ahead of it:
  1. The more natural your proxy appears to Instagram, the better. Instagram seems to work better with residential IPs, but datacenter IPs can work well, too. Make sure the proxy is only used by you. These are often called "dedicated" or "private" proxies. If you can find proxies that work specifically for Instagram (there are some proxy sellers on BHW that sell them), that's usually a good bet.
  2. If you are not able to connect to FollowPlanner with your current proxy, you might need to replace your proxy. Some providers will give you a fresh proxy IP if you ask them, and this might help fix this issue. Please note: If your proxy doesn't work with FollowPlanner, it probably won't work with other automation tools on the market either (and vice-versa).
  3. If you are able to connect to FollowPlanner with your proxy, but you receive frequent errors, you should dial back your automation use drastically for 3-5 days until you can run error-free intervals on FollowPlanner. Once you can complete actions error-free (even if they are minimal), then you can slowly ramp up your settings again. Sometimes, these errors are caused by not warming up your Instagram account. If these errors persist overtime, then it might be best to use a different proxy.

Can I use more than one Instagram account per proxy?

Yes. This works best if you have a residential proxy. We wouldn’t recommend using more than 5 Instagram accounts per proxy. The ideal strategy is one proxy per account.

Do I need to buy a VPS to run FollowPlanner?

Nope!
There are no downloads required for FollowPlanner. You don’t need to buy a separate VPS, and you don’t need to download any program.
Just login to your account on FollowPlanner.com using your Instagram account & a proxy, and you’re good to go! It’s that simple.

I set FollowPlanner to follow 1,000 accounts today, but it followed less than that. Why did it do this?

There are a few reasons why FollowPlanner might not reach your set interaction limit:
  1. FollowPlanner's anti-ban algorithm might randomize your actions slightly
    For example, if you have FollowPlanner running at 60 follows per hour, 24 hours a day, FollowPlanner will set limits so you don't accidentally abuse Instagram.
    Another example: If you set your hourly follows to 50, FollowPlanner might sometimes follow anywhere from 45-55 people in an effort to look "more human" than the typical bot.
  2. Limited sources
    FollowPlanner can only complete actions if there are enough sources for it to use. It's best to have a surplus of sources so FollowPlanner will never run out.
  3. Strict settings
    If your settings are very strict, FollowPlanner won't have enough sources to draw from in order to complete the actions. FollowPlanner utilizes the sources in real-time, so you need to make sure FollowPlanner is given enough time to complete each action. FollowPlanner will create it's own delay if it needs more time to gather sources, so keep this in mind.

Should I warm up my account when I'm using FollowPlanner?

Yes, you should warm up your account. You should also make sure the account isn't being accessed by several different IPs at once. It's typically not recommended to have several phones login to the account while using FollowPlanner (or any automation tool).
Although FollowPlanner is a very safe tool, using several IPs, several devices, and automating without a warm-up can cause issues.
We recommend you take it slow for a week, slowly ramp up your actions, and limit how often you use the account on other devices.
If you do decide to use the account on other devices, we recommend pausing actions on FollowPlanner during that time.

What does the future look like for FollowPlanner?

FollowPlanner is constantly updating and improving. We've spent over a year in development before launching, and that's because we want to make sure we are providing the best product available. Although FollowPlanner has officially launched, we still have big goals for FollowPlanner's platform.
