What is best configuration for wordpress site on DigitalOcean VPS?

I know that many BHW users are using DigitalOcean and like it. I wanted to give it a try for a wordpress website. I'm currently using a shared hosting and planning to move to a VPS. There are many options for OS and other settings in digitalocean. I just want a configuration that gives best performance and preferably Cpanel. I don't want to keep switching droplets to test speeds, so anyone who has done already can guide me choose the best configuration.

I've read great things about LSCache, OpenLiteSpeed and Cyberpanel combination for wordpress. I will look at other options before making a choice.

OP is looking panel, so everyone is suggesting panel not hosting provider.

He can use DO with these suggested solutions, don´t know why you have this negative mindset, but read up on what OP wanted and what was suggested first.

Choose CentOS 6 --> update the libraries --> install LAMP --> Link your domain + Wordpress
once setup is done install litespeed plugin or use varnish on server.

Thanks for your suggestion. I'm not looking for managed VPS as of now. I'll try to setup VPS myself and if it doesn't work or results in more problems, then I'll go for managed VPS. In that case, I'll consider spinupwp and cloudways.

I'm actually transferring my existing site from shared hosting to VPS for better performance. Digitalocean offers empty server with options to install whatever we want. So, I'm just looking for best OS + Cache plugins that can give best loading speed.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think Varnish doesn't work with https sites. I was thinking about NGINX and Litespeed.

SpinupWP is a bit different then Cloudways, since you have full control over the enviroment, so it should not be fully compared with Cloudways, also the guys that run SpinupWP is well regarded in the WordPress community for their skills, so if you looking for a optimized solution for WordPress their solution is the way to go. You will never get that kind of WordPress optimisation with Cpanel that is a slow system for your server.

Varnish does work with SSL https://www.varnish-software.com/plus/ssl-tls-support/
