I have been looking online a loot to get a page that load fast.

I managed to get decent metrix on GTmetrix see image:

Here is my configuration:
Siteground gogeek + cloudflare (free) + SG optimizer. Spent hours trying to configure these as good as possible thanks to google/here/youtube help.

But when I test this page on lighthouse, I got only 50 performace on mobile AND more important, when I try it myself (simulating it's the first time ever I open the page, what most users will experience) The page takes about 8 seconds to load, this is not acceptable for me.

So I was here, looking to improve that, and I did:
watching a bunch of videos explaining I should use the plugin asset cleaner (tried with no success until now) and reading a lot about few plugin/tools to get things faster.

While reading here are the best option I found in my opinion:
- WP rocket alone (remove SG optimizer)
- SG optimizer alone
- SG optimizer + WP rocket installed together
- Ezoic (new "machine learning" plugin to improve your speed)

Here are my questions to you:
1) Considering I'm ok to spend some $ to improve things, what should I do in your opinion and why ?
2) Did I forget any potential solution I should consider ?
3) I discovered Ezoic recently, anybody here used it already ? what's your feedback ?

Thanks guys

Seems you have bad optimized theme or/and plugins. At first i suggest to check this thread: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/avoid-these-65-slow-loading-wordpress-plugins.1237859/ if you have any slow plugins.

Also I would say SG is not the best choice you can get. Personally for me autoptimize+WP Fastest Cache or W3 Total Cache works better than WP Rocket and any other cache plugin.

And lastly don't forget to optimize images too. I recommend EWWW.IO, Smush or Imigafiy. Test these and check which one works better for you.

You should consider copy + pasting here problems that lighthouse is showing. Then it will be easier to help you.

SG optimizer doesn't work well with NitroPack, in case you were thinking of trying those together.

Do you mean this:

I didn't want to spam with that but as you gently asked :)

Start with reducing your image sizes, 2.4MB in images???

I can't see how this is possible. I obviously started by doing this and 2.4MB isn't true.
GTmetrix gives a more accurate estimation in this case:

I recently ran a quick audit on another BHW member to try to improve its page loading speed. Curious, his site is also hosted on SG and using SG Optimizer. I recommend him to switch over WP Rocket + Autoptimize + Asset Clean Up + Imagify and his page loading speed improved.

I only use 4 plugins and these are:
SG optimizer
Rank Math
Thirsty affiliate
Asset cleaner

So I don't think this is the reason.

Regarding the theme this might be the reason as I'm using divi and I heard it's pretty heavy :/

Regarding the cache plugins, I will give it a try, thanks.

Regarding the images, they are light. all between 5kb and 100kb and 80% under 40kb. Should I really try to do better than that ? I doubt...

Done :).

And what about Ezoic and their "machine learning" plugin to improve speed... Anybody tried that out already ?

I tried my best not to, but I may have Cloudflare and SG optimizer double doing the same things.

Switching to cloudways from siteground made my sites load 10 times faster. And it's even cheaper.

Can you share a link to your site in MP ? would love to see that in action...

It loads for example this image that is around 661kb and could be around 43kb, that is a 94% saving, so there is a lot of optimizing to do.

Code:
https://www.crypto2win.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Crypto2win-Image-Stake_com_Best_Crypto-sports-betting-sites-full-detailed-VIP-Program-2548x1474-1-1280x740.png

Could not access it directly, so I uploaded it to https://im6.ezgif.com/tmp/ezgif-6-cb981199c7ee.png and run it thru https://shortpixel.com/image-compression-test

So if your page is 837kb thru GTMetrix, it is wierd that this image is 661kb alone and loaded.

I suggest you install Shortpixel plugin on your website and optimize all your images.
