Trying to target everyone on Facebook is like trying to catch every fish in the ocean with a tiny net. You'll just end up with a wet net and no fish.

fb wants to make it simpler and easier for users, the more targeted the harder it is and the worse the results, let the campaign be broad

have you tried non-targeted ads? are the results better
i find non-targeted fb ads give better results

The important thing is what kind of fish you choose and whether you can find the right area where that fish lives to cast your net.

If you don't have a certain goal, what bait are you going to cast? The important thing is that once you see the target, you have outlined the right fishing strategy

Yes, but it depends on the product, which products should be targeted and which products should be placed according to Facebook's automatic optimization method for good results.

You can use hidden links to bypass, if you don't know where to get hidden links, find some agents to hire their services, they will give you free hidden links

Two words and shared this before but going to explain it a bit more.

Creative Intend.

What FB is moving towards is 1: reading your creative (AI)

2: Reading your ad texts.

There are also several other ways but let me explain this.

When you want to sell let's say a VPN, FB will take the words in your ad such as Family Safety, VPN, Privacy, and so forth. As mentioned in another post I have been playing around with this and it's doing magic.

Facebook (Meta) indeed wants to make things much more easier and absolutely move a whole lot to AI, which makes sense in this day and age.

Another option would be collecting leads (email list) and firing a lead or adding to a cart campaign at a low cost and using these to retarget.

Like what do you expect? AI = booming, move with the tech being developed.

AD INTEND.

There is no trap, follow up with the time we are living in and you will be just fine, possibly even better off in the end.

Be clear about what kind of fish you want to catch and find the right place to catch that kind of fish and then cast your net.

Facebook is quite confident in AI-optimized automated campaigns. I feel like I should test manual and automatic targeting for my products. Whichever way works, I'll just optimize that way.

Targeting broad audiences on Facebook often results in wasted ad spend and low engagement

Non-targeted ads didn't work very well.

You are laughing, which is fine and I wish you the best with your campaigns.

Meta will sooner or later FULLY change to pixel optimization, in fact, it kinda already has.

Goodluck, keep targeting with interests that will be removed in the near future.

You have to do A/B tests to see which one gives you the best results. For me, I usually do broad targeting, not micro targeting. I just want to point Facebook/Meta to the right direction.

For example, if I have a product about tattoos. I only choose interests "tattoo". I don't target any gender, no age, etc. I just want Facebook to know this product is about tattoos and it should show it to people who are into tattoos.

If you micro target too much, it could end up in more costs for you.

These are things you have to test. Unfortunately, especially on Meta (and also TikTok) it requires a lot of testing, so it requires a lot of budget as well. The creatives and also the targeting can either make you or break you.

I understand your point, but what about a new meta ads account and a new pixel?

You ALWAYS back up your pixel buddy.

I always run with 2 accounts, one to back up the pixels.

Then whatever happens is you just move that pixel to your new account so you don't lose the data collected.

Most agencies on here will offer this service, some even have warmed-up pixels for you to use as well.

But mate keep laughing, not even sure my time is worth it to help you out.

Your initial claim is that everyone is running blind, might as well quit Meta ads at this point.

Peace.

Targeting specifically helps you optimize costs and increase efficiency. For example, for a women's fashion store, choosing the right age, interest, and behavior segments will help your ads reach people who are truly interested and likely to buy.
