Shopify. It's also really cheap. Automatic google shopping, looks nice, tons of themes/templates available, great support.

I've tried Shopify and I don't recommend it unless u wanna skip the hassle of installations and just concentrate on making ur online store.
Minimum charge is $24/month. Thats around $250 per year. Enough to get multiple domains, SSL on each one, with good hosting, and you'll still have $100 change. Not to mention, on the $24/month plan, they charge 2% transaction fees so less profits for you.
Magento is very difficult to install and is generally recommended for large-scale stores. The interface of it is beautiful though and the features are limitless.
I've installed OpenCart. It's probably the easiest and most well rounded cart available. However, the number of users are extremely low so support can be a bitch. Also, the extensions/modules for OpenCart is extremely limited so u'll pretty much have to stick with what they give you.

Zen-Cart is easy to set up, and has lots of options... but it lacks a stable one page checkout. The new mod for it was a pain in the ass to configure visually(didn't even fit the default template correctly), so I began looking at others.
CRELoaded(another osCommerce Fork) looks real good, but one-page checkout is a paid upgrade.
Magento, like CRE looks awesome, but most of the good stuff costs $$$.
Wordpress can be slow as a shopping cart, and requires alot of work to get it to look nice.

First Zen Cart - too hard for me at the time to transfer my look and feel, and the standard zen cart is really fugly.
Then WP-Ecommerce - I needed to upload and administer 1000+ products, and there was just no time efficient way to do so with that plugin, plus it didn't have the robust funtionality that I needed. It's IMO geared toward the merchant with a small number of products.
Then I tried a version of oscommerce coded for the theme I use, but I didn't have the knowledge to change the 90's looking fugliness. (by the way one of the reasons people vote for oscommerce is there are ton's and ton's of open source and premium mods for it, and many suppliers and drop shippers are already set up to feed into or integrate with an oscommerce run store. Inventorysource - for example - and they even modded their own version)
Next I just created store kinda "from scratch" using wordpress. The big downside was it was clumsy to manage, also and slow loading searching, made search kind of suck, (though I've since learned about wp-supercache and amazons3).
Another free cart to look at is Vendio. It's one of those that's set up to integrate with ebay, amazon, shopzilla and the like.

I use Zen Cart currently for my large sites, oscommerce before. Zen cart is good in my opinion, has plenty of features optional add ins and is easy to use. I upgraded from OsCommerce for Coupon suport. Now though I am mostly using a very basic custom javascript shopping cart, offer few key products and main page is straight up, products, cart, and checkout button all on one page and checkout is straight through to Paypal, Amazon or Google Checkout. It supposed to complete more sales having more or less "Buy now" buttons instead of the add to cart business. Two clicks on my site (add to cart, checkout), taken to payment proccessor, enter password, confirm payment.
OMFG, updating PrestaStore is a real bitch! I thought updating it would be as easy as the auto-update function on WordPress...turns out NOT!
ZenCart is also a bitch when you try to update to a newer version.
Do you guys know any CMS that allows an easy update without having to configure with mySQL, exporting backups, etc..??? It's a serious hassle that we'd all love to avoid!!

Please add to that Drupal Commerce.
It is coded by the same people who write Ubercart, but they decided to restart a new project from scratch to fix foundational flaws that they learned after years using Ubercart.
Obviously some people don't agree with what considered "flaws" but I'd say Drupal Commerce is comparable to Magento.

Ryan, the coder, is very active in the community. Just look at the first comment. Everything that moves online, mentioning Drupal Commerce, he'd come.
Considering the age of the project, I am really impressed with Drupal Commerce. If you're an avid Drupal user and like the modular framework, you can't go wrong with it. Otherwise, expect quite a steep learning curve at first.

1. Prestashop - It is very noobs friendly. My first ecommerce site is prestashop. I choose prestashop after having tried my hand on couple of others e.g magento, zen cart, cube cart, oscommerce etc. very easy to install, upgrade, customize. You do not need to login to hosting server to do 99% of the possible customize. It is SEO friendly as I got my first eccomerce site on google search engine ranking even without much seo work. There are a lot of free themes, highly featured modules
CONS
Most of the modules are costly comparing to open cart.

I've been using prestashop 1.3.5 and 1.4 for 2 years on real store and 1 year using estore.
Prestashop is good and stable, especially if you're using standard theme. Prestashop has complete setting to sell product with a lot of variants including digital product.
eshop (wp base) is much simple than prestashop. For my product, I prefer this because it light, fast and surely I can use many advantages using wp base. eshop have some small issues using paypal, but it's not big deal at all.

Added a few new options into mix (even branched into some differing types of shopping/payment solutions) and created a master list of what I found in the thread so far. It would be cool if we could keep building out the list and even maybe assign a general rating to each shopping cart option as well as a category type (i.e. WISYWIG, Code your own, A, A-, B+ etc.).
