[Successful Journey] Scaling Amazon Affiliate from $1000/m to $10k

So most of your older posts are ranking now?
How long did it take for them to appear on the first page without backlinks?

Am I the only one who is wondering why you say it's a successful journey - even before it started?

Update

I've contacted 2 content services on BHW already and ordered 2 articles, 1 from each. Waiting to see the quality before placing bulk orders. For today, I'll be traveling but I'm going to knock out 2k words on my phone during stops. I still haven't sold any high ticket items. But volume is picking up.

To-do List:

  • Create 1 article while driving.
  • Find 2 more article writers to outsource content from.

About 3 - 4 weeks to hit Page 1. New posts have recently hit number 1 and taken snippets so I'm seeing a slight bump in traffic.

are these keywords are buying keywords?

85% are.

Am I the only one who is wondering why you say it's a successful journey - even before it started?

You might just be. Take a look around on the other ongoing journeys then come back here and state your opinions again.

Amazon has introduced recommended articles in its search result pages. It's eating up the good ol affiliate cookie by overwriting it with the recommended article's author's affiliate tag. Research about them and find if there are any in your niche. They might eat up your revenue. Many of the Amazon affiliates are complaining about them in the official forum.

Here's an example of Recommended Article: https://www.amazon.com/ospublishing/story/76fc4bc9-cbdd-4912-9fb0-f64ac7b91490/

The above article is ranking #1 after sponsored ads for the query "best watches for men" in amazon's search result page. If your end goal is to drop your affiliate cookie on the visitor's browser and hope they buy something in 24hrs then better change your strategy.

Shaddy as F. In effect they stole probably millions of articles.

I only do FBA on Amazon... but actions such as these just make me want to stop working with them...

Even though they are doing this to category pages at the moment only, I am quite confident in predicting that they will role out something similar for product pages as well.

And bam, we will yet again have millions of more amazon pages poluting the SERPs and taking away comissions from the people who worked for them.

I wanna know you write articles yourself so you basically native writer?
How you structure article to write a best buying guide. Do you have any template?

I've written 95% of the articles so far. I'm not a native writer, but English is our second language so I do write pretty well. At least better than every service I've ordered.

I did post a simple structure that I follow in earlier responses. So look back through the pages and you'll see it.

How does the new bonus tab works, do you know? What goes into calculating it?

Oh dear, don't feel offended. Looks like you have too high self-esteem if you answer that way.

I was just asking why you call it a successful journey before your journey (growing from 1k to 10k) even ended. Refering to other people journey's (and implicating they aren't as "successful" as you) is kinda disrespectful.

But, I wish you the best of luck that you don't end as one of the "other ongoing journeys".

Sigh.. If earnings are what you jumped on with the impression that I'm haughty and boasting then I think you might be reading into what I meant too deeply. The truth is if you take a look at most other journeys there is little or nothing successful about them and most will stay that way. I've created journeys that I flopped too due to laziness and fumbling to learn so this is a continuation of those as I now consider it "Successful."

Furthermore, have you ever heard the term "Speak things into being/existence?" And at the end of the day, it's my journey and my title if I say it is successful then it is to me. What does it matter to you?

But on a side note, thanks for your best wishes.

At the end of the day, we're all working hard to achieve something so no offense to any of you guys that are working hard on your dreams. I'm nobody special, the little earnings I have now can vanish like smoke tomorrow. The only thing I have is my little intelligence plus the mindset and discipline to work hard, so don't mind me. Thanks for stopping by though I'll keep working on my "Successful" journey.

I apologize to anyone that took offense but this journey is solely for myself to look back on in the future regardless of the result. However, I do hope others can learn from both the good and bad things I do on a day to day and if I do successfully scale to 10k, you realize that I'm just a regular guy that worked hard.

Update

I'll start investing heavily in my sites going forward. It's becoming obvious each day that personally typing each article myself is an impossible and utterly foolish task. So i'll start outsourcing everything and simply manage the quality of the produced pieces to reflect the standard I want.

I've found 4 writers on BHW and 1 Offline. I plan to invest $1000/ month into content from now on and scale as revenue increases.

I completed the article I started yesterday. But that's the last one I'll be writing. See you guys in the next update.

Which Astra child theme are you using? I am looking for a good Amazon Affiliate Wordpress theme.

really depressed right now. lost page. been losing from past 2 years. am already thinking about a job now. seriously feeling blank.

Update

Just leaving an update a little early before I forget. I sold 2 high ticket items yesterday so that's good news to give this month's revenue a boost. The last two days have been uneventful as I've mostly been trying to figure out which writers to contact. Plus, I'm adding a few more easy keywords to my content list so I can place bulk orders. I will try to start placing orders tomorrow or maybe tonight depending on how I feel in a few hours.

Ehh... I might just place 3 orders now as a test for one service I see some other BHW members getting.

Just a regular day on amazon, but I'm grateful. Somehow I feel like I'm on the edge of breaking out as my earnings are too consistent. Let's hope it only goes up and not down.

Onwards to scaling!

But yea I use astra and thrive on site 2. Newspaper and thrive on site 1.

This will be wonderful journey, good luck with you.
