I have been creating accounts and following people and pinning stuff from my website and expecting sales through the amazon widgets placed on my website. I never bothered clicking on other people's stuff. As I have seen many saying that "We can not pin directly from amazon", I never tried pinning directly from my astore. Today I saw a few pins from astore.amazon.com and a lot of users on Pinterest are applying the same technique:/ is this allowed?
    Examples :

http://www.pinterest.com/pin/294704369337651748/ (this one redirects to Buying Page on instead of Amazon Affiliate Store )

I remember doing something like this in Kaboodle a few years ago. Eventually, Kaboodle caught up with the tactic and disallowed it. So while it's allowed now, it might not be a long term strategy. Perhaps iframing the aStore could be a better long term plan but with more work upfront.

Remember that when something looks like a spam, these huge websites immediately track them down and ban your accounts. They are getting better and better every single day. Sometimes, even when you have all the intention to be genuine, you just get kicked out because of your IP's track record.

Their business model is based on people spamming the shit out of their sites.
