Are you getting 500 and 503 errors when commenting? Are you getting those errors on all target sites or just some of the target sites?

500 is the HTTP error code for a generic internal server error; 503 is Service Unavailable. Are you able to scrape the search engines, harvest proxies, etc.? And speaking of proxies, are you using them and if so what kind?

Hi gregstereo

Thanks for replying. I am able to harvest keyword urls no problem.. I am able to harvest proxies no problem. I ran a test server connection from scrapebox and no problem..

When i go to comment i get 0 rate of post i have ran small batches of like 100 or larger like 1000 not difference. I ran a small batch of 20 with no proxie no difference

out of maybe 2-3 thousand that i have tried it maybe said 2-3 were posted?

in my case, i get very low success in commenting wordpress blogs....though it finishes very fast.

for the blogengine, success rate is high, but damn, it takes 30secs for each link. in 1 day it could analyze around 2880 links only, and not all will be successful.

am i doing the right thing guyz or is there any option that i can tick to make slow commenter comment faster than it is right now?

thanks. very nice software.

thanks ill also try blog engine.. but i see from the post here that many people are having same issues. would be nice if person behind scape box could come up with some fixes or at least answers. sorry guys but should be better than this.

You might want to peruse the history of this app and the amount of blood, sweat and tears the developer has put into it before making a comment like that. Sweetfunny has issued...I don't how many updates and enhancements, bug fix releases, etc., sometimes within hours of bug reports or even before the bug was officially reported.

As far as what your specific issue or issues are, it's hard to tell from what you've reported so far. There's a hell of a lot of information about how to use sbox and a pretty good-sized user base who are successfully using it.

Hey Sweetfunny, I have purchased Scrapebox over the weekend.

I didn't read the sales page clearly and I thought I could install it on several machines. First i installed it on my laptop and activated, then installed it on computer and transferred the license.

That's when I realized I can only have it on one computer.

I really need it to be on my laptop, instead of my computer, because I spend a lot of time at my gf's house. I have been emailed you twice about this, but I haven't gotten any response. Could you please transfer the license.

Well, this reminds me a bit of when I worked in tech support and some people would call in with reports like "My computer is acting up, your application won't open, and the virus-checker hangs every time I run it, and there's smoke coming out of the tower, and my dog has to go to the bathroom..." It was hard to diagnose so many different things all once, but I'll take a stab at sorting out at least a couple things here and see where we get.

1000 search results per keyword is an API limitation of the search engines. As far as success rate and number of links found, the success rate depends on a combination of factors that impact your effectiveness at evading the spam countermeasures (more on that in a minute). And I don't even bother checking links right after a run, between the impact of cookies and sessions and the moderation queue some sites have in place it's pointless IMHO.

As far as evading the comment spam countermeasures, it takes the right mix of voodoo to really pull it off. 12 proxies is really not that many in the vast scheme of things. Your comments need to be really heavily spun and you need a high ratio of comments:targets. For example if I am targetting 20,000 sites, I try to have at least 50 comments, each of which are spun to hell and back (the spintax can give you tens of variations per comment if you do it right). Throwing in multiple links in a comments can get your comment rejected automagically by some targets. Personally I believe that using spammy names (e.g. "Buy Biggerdick Pills") will get your comments chucked right quick.

Overall your reported success rates aren't that bad, but if you incorporate the advice and strategies discussed around these parts you'll do even better.

peace - gregs.

Thanks for trying to help but I don't think you got it right. The success rate I mentioned was referring to the number of the comments submitted.61 out of 997,how could you say this is not bad? Frankie (the guy on the videos) had about 700 out of 1000 with the same keyword,I did not see it clearly but he used about 4-5 private proxies.

So do you think I should increase the number of the proxies or change the proxy company?

Agreed. I've been using Scrapebox for the past couple of weeks and I use a similar method as you've mentioned. Here's my setup:
General Comment - 250 Spun comments using The Spinner (try for multiple paragraphs. Multiple paragraphs seem to generate click throughs). Avoid "visit my site" BS.

Generated Emails - One for each blog (ex 80,000 links, 80,000 emails)
Generated Names - Again one for each blog.
Names and Emails can be generated using Scrapebox

Proxies - Total 14.

Only put a single link in the website portion not within the text itself. I also wipe out the names, emails and comments after I'm done.

I've had no problem using this format on any type of blog. For .gov and .edu blogs I do them manually with an actual post so I ensure it sticks.

"After nearly 11 million downloads of WordPress 3.0 in just 42 days, we're releasing WordPress 3.0.1."
Its not the new WP version which is interesting but the 11.000.000 reasons to use sbox :D
Prepare for attack! But wisely of course. I recommend everybody to read ALL THE POSTS and watch ALL THE VIDS before making a single post. It is well worth it. Thank you guys for all the help so far, you are like family now. Seriously!

I was trying to sort through different numbers I'd read and, frankly, < 1000 targets isn't a really great statistical sample size. But extrapolating from that and other comments, it sounded to me like you were on the right track, you just needed some advice and work to boost your success rate. The more you mix things up and hone and refine your Boxing skills, the more you will see your success rate go up.

+1 for what mataff wrote (see just above this msg) s/he has some additional good advice. And +1 for more proxies - mo proxies, mo comments mo heavily spun, mo emails and names, and mo targetting = "mo money, mo money, mo money"....anyone else remember the TV show In Living Color and the HSN? Ah but I digress.

Keep @ it, you might want to look through the proxies forum here I think there's some info over there about how to leech your own. I'm a big fan of mixing up proxies - some from jammo's forum, some from the sbox harvester, some from a couple other sources, some leeched on my own...

And another free gregs. tip (though I've seen others mention it on bhw as well) - you can scrape already approved comments from others on various sites/posts in your niche (think youtube, goog, etc.), spin the holy hell out of them, and voila you have instant comments, just add water.

peace - gregs.

Anyone know if we can save the progress in slow commenter mode?

I would love to close the program after X amount of successful, then come back to it. I know we're able to pause/resume but I'm always afraid the machine may crash or I need to reboot for whatever reason. It's windows after all. :D

how can i scrape blogs with trackbacks ?

Run these footprints:

"Post a comment or leave a trackback"
"trackback uri" + "Leave a comment"

You should end up with a shit load of wordpress track backs. Just modify those searches slightly for other blogs footprints.

To really turn it up a notch in scraping trackback urls use a custom php script that uses curl and regex to pull up pages and scrape it for the following: rel="trackback" Then grab the trackback url.

Most top blogs have the footprints removed but trackback ability still active. This is the only way I've been able to find them.

Hopefully scrapebox adds in a regex feature which would seriously put it a notch above the rest. If regex were included we could also scrape rss/atom feeds from successful blogs we've posted on so we can scrape those feeds for new posts then comment on them.

guys anyone else have this problem?

Error 504 received! (Gateway Timeout)

Happens a lot when harvesting links :(

Also while harvesting, SB also crashes, sometimes with 20k harvested, other times 100k is this a win7 problem or?

Im guessing its your proxies.

No its not a Win 7 prob. SB works perfect with WIN 7. I regularly harvest 10 Million+ domains in a run and I use win 7.

OKey.

Had it a for few days and it was running okey on really high setting when It comes to scraping URL's about 180 threads in Google adn yahoo and about 100 in bing... I also was posting about 200 threads in fast poster.. But the las days so have scrapbox been freezing up when I have been posting even with lower settings I starts well then just freezes a few minutes in and the only thing I can o i right click and choose close and startover.

I have also been running in some issues with the scraping process as just recently so did I scrape with 110 threads each in G and Y an nothing in the others and I got an 503 error in google and I pressed stop harvesting and it freezes and I need to crash it ad startover again.. it starting to piss me off all this freezing up since I want it to be running without me matching over it.
