I have tried other plugins to block bots and they either stopped updating them or they just did not work. I was blocking bots is with .htaccess but occasionally I would migrate a site to a new host or just plain forget to update the file and my site would show up on third party crawlers. Depending on the niche there are plenty of people that will report a site if they think it might be a PBN. So to keep your site safe you really should be blocking third-party crawlers.
This plugin is not like any I have used in the past. It is actually cloaking the links or redirecting the links to another page or site for third party crawlers, depending on the setting. The nice thing about hiding the links entirely is even if someone finds the site they will never know there are even any external links. There is a bunch of ways to customize and tweak the appearance which is really neat.
I did find one little glitch where punctuation was getting alter and coming out weird ( example: propertyâÂÂs). I notified @rafark and he had it corrected and updated in less than two hours. I feel that if there are any issues there will be support with the plugin.
The product is good, service and communication are outstanding. So for me, this seems like a winner.
My only concern is that this product is actually cloaking and if found, I am sure it would result in a penalty. But then so would the fact that the site is a PBN anyway.
Can I get the coupon? I am probably going to get an unlimited license.

I thought I would try it without reading the instructions and it is so easy to use I didn't need any. I blocked the "SEO" bots like ahrefs, Moz etc and did a search on those for the site and the crawlers were all over it like a rash but all were blocked. Then I did a total block of all bot except Google and Bing. 5 days later it has blocked bots nearly 11,000 times! The list of bots is massive (I didn't know there were that many!) I did have a glitch with exporting logs but it was fixed within 2 hours (it was my PHP version). I also tried the fetch as google option in Webmaster tools after redirecting the page 1 to a different page 2 and Google fetched page 2! Impressed.
Overall: A great plugin. Easy to use and understand and a must-have for your PBNs.

Yes, some actions can be classified as cloaking but we didn't want to label the plugin as such since it's not a full-featured cloaker. You can always switch the block mode to "blacklist" and select the "Send a status code" action for a safer (but slightly more vulnerable) setup. Here's an example.

Just a clarification, the data you exported contains all the plugin settings, so that you can easily export/import a custom configuration between your sites without having to manually set everything up.

Blocking bots using htaccess is the most unreliable way to do it, since it's up to each bot to decide whether to follow the rules or not and since it's a public config file, it's potentially a footprint.

AccessShield PRO can be used on any WordPress site.
