Summary
  • Package(s) tested: 1000-word article
  • Turnaround Time: >24 hours
Service Information
  • I asked for a 1000-word article, but received a 2,300-word article. I'm used to overdelivering, but I found this to be a bit excessive, and it meant the article I requested couldn't be used for the purpose I had in mind. This might have been due to the article's 600-word introduction.
  • The plagiarism checker I used suggested that there was plagiarism, but it was just a sentence that was generic enough to be picked up. Other than that, there were quotes used throughout the content as well.
  • As for the article itself, there were various issues with grammar, missing punctuation, incomplete sentences, and minor issues such as tautologies within the article. For instance, one of the issues I came across was "one of the easiest and foolproof ways", which should have been "one of the easiest and most foolproof ways".
  • The seller asked me what tone I would like for the article prior to writing it.
  • The article was relatively engaging, and they incorporated the tone that I requested fairly well, especially considering that I thought it would be a somewhat difficult tone to use for the content.
  • There was a good level of research, accompanied with anecdotal information to add to the article.
  • I felt the seller could have displayed more patience throughout the review.
Additional Information
  • I only reviewed what the seller originally sent me without requesting revisions. As is often the case with content writing services, most customers should be able to work with the seller to improve or make changes to the content as necessary.
For Buyers: The quality of the product or service that I receive is what you should expect, or better. If you feel that the quality of the service has dropped significantly, please let us know via the report button.

Bit worried here OP.

IMHO - if you're asking $20 for 500 words on BHW your content shouldn't have any negative points from a mod's review.

Mind sharing a sample of an Amazon buying guide and/or product review?

Thanks :)

I'm glad someone picked this up, so let me explain.
During a review process, the mod makes a request stating what he/she wants. The seller then delivers as per request... the end of the review process.

What does the above mention mean?

This means, according to the mod own words "I only reviewed what the seller originally sent me without requesting revisions. As is often the case with content writing services."

No revision was requested. For the normal buyer and seller relationship, the seller has the privilege to request revisions if they so desire. My writing isn't flawless, I'd be a fool to assert that, but hey, the amount of research and other variables that go into my writing; you will get your money's worth.

I'm a considerate guy, I would be out of my mind to charge $4 per words without offering value for money. There's no mincing of words here, I have offered a few review copies to justify the price tag (to those of you reviewing this service; tell the people what you receive, when you do).

I stick to my words, and as you can see from my sales copy: "I know how to engage readers, from start to finished." If you order my service and you aren't pleased, post it here, no hard feelings.

As per your request, I will pm you samples.

I love criticism, it makes me a better writer.

Regards.

I sent you a PM for the review copy - Apologize for how long it took, currently on vacation.

I just wanted to say, this is the first time a BHW thread start actually got me hooked and I had to read more. Really nice way going with the emotional side, I'm impressed. Looking forward to the review copy!

Interested in free review copy for a honest review :) PM me if it's still available

My review:

The article topic I provided was related to product comparison.

Quality: I didn't find any quality issue with the article. It was well researched and he picked up all the positives and negatives of both the products. The writing style and the tone of the article can easily be understood and my readers would be clear among the products which product out of two they should opt for.

TAT: Article was delivered earlier than I expected. Keeping in mind, the amount of research was done.

Grammar, Spelling & Punctuation: Everything was perfect. I would also like to add that, the article had interesting sub titles which would definitely make users to read more.

Since it was a review copy, I asked for my article to be within 300-500 words (ofcourse longer article would be better any time). But I was happy that the article was over 1000 words.

Overall Rating: 10/10

Review copy:

I received an article to review DesignatedWriter's services on content creation. I will be honest with this review.

First, I thought I was going to receive 500 words but got 700 words of content, this a huge plus if he does this every time.

Second, the delivery was very fast because I received it in a little over 24 hours.

Third, I read through the content and some of it seemed off, so I had to read it a few times to understand what I was reading because it was very generic and it didn't go with the article. So in this section I think it needs work.

Lastly, the research done on the keyword I asked was really interesting because there things in there I didn't know about.

I believe this is a great service, and I will definitely become a regular customer and buy content.

Review

I received a free article to try this service.

The type of article I asked for was a product review/overview.
I picked this product because I was actually looking for one and wanted to see if by selecting the persona and sales pitch style, it would make me really want to buy.

Communication was great throughout, and the piece was quickly delivered.
There were 730+ words in this and it was well presented.

Overall the style and tone were as expected, the article did the job.

Now if you're using Yoast, this was showing as green for readability ( Ignore the seo aspect )

What I'll say here is the sub headings could have been in place, but I have templates for my writers which defines the headings etc, so here this too wasn't too much of an issue.

However, Hemingway App showed a slightly different version.

Generally, the article was pretty decent. There were a couple of nuances that didn't sound correct. I've never heard a product been described as good enough to buy "at this very moment." I'd have thought ' right now' was probably a better option to use.

$40 per 1k words? If you can get that, well done. I've seen cheaper prices for as good quality, but then again I've seen writers charging more for content that wouldn't be half as good as this piece.
