Hello guys,

So this is my journey with PayPal, I used to have a personal PayPal account a couple of years ago which was running fine. I made another personal PayPal account and received a gift payment through this (like an idiot). This lead to my original account and my second account being limited by PayPal. I rang them on numerous occasions with no success. I managed to get my money out of there by complaining to the financial ombudsman in the UK (a BBB alternative). They released my money quicker than the 180 days. I used my friends' account to sell products but they also became limited for being linked to mine.

After all these issues, I clued up a little and got my friend to make a business account in addition to his personal account. I was careful with this account and got a new phone etc to use it. After a while, I used this account freely without any issue. I was selling on ebay and had my own website selling sneaker accessories. I had no issues except for the odd refunds etc.

I made a new website selling research chemicals/pharma products and added the email from this domain to my paypal so I can accept payments through it i.e. [email protected] For a good year, I was receiving money for these pharma products through this paypal and there didn't seem to be an issue.

A couple of days ago, I receive an email from PayPal saying that my account has been permanently limited and that all references to paypal should be removed. I rang customer services and they told me to email [email protected] and that they have no clue on why my account was limited. I have emailed aup but they sent an automated reply saying that the account with not be reinstated.

Looking at the acceptable use policy of paypal, the products I sell are not necessarily restricted i.e. they're uncontrolled substances in the UK, not steroids, not drugs etc.

I have now emailed them multiple times asking for an explanation and have also made a formal complaint to the financial ombudsman service.

I now have no payment methods to sell products on my website and have no paypal etc. When I tried to add stripe, it was almost instantly rejected. I have added payment through bitcoin and bank transfer but customers do not like using these methods. I cannot sell items on ebay or through my other website selling accessories as the paypal has been banned.

My business is not registered currently so I have no company number which it seems like a lot of payment processors require. This was not required from stripe, square, paypal etc.

Is there another payment gateway I can use for my woocommerce website which is similar to paypal where the sign up doesn't require these details?

Hi,
where is based your business? (do you have a legal entity)
where do you mainly sell? (which country)

have you tried bluesnap?
I looked at bluesnap but similar to other processors, they want a company number.

I need something similar to PayPal, square, stripe in this instance. I mainly sell in the UK, Europe and US.

It's not registered as a legal entity at the moment but its in the works.

Is there a way in which I can cloak the transactions somehow? I was thinking of setting up another website selling basic supplements and redirect to that site on checkout.

Can use like a third party plugin which prevents or changes data going to paypal & stripe upon sale?

Yup you can use a cloaking plugin for that

That's the good idea. redirect it to new site at checkout.

I have bitcoin payment added via coinbase commerce.
This is terrible idea, I would probably use an open source solution so you can control the wallet and have full custody.

In addition, in your case, I would establish a new business with a nominee and setup Paypal and Stripe again and use a reliable cloaking provider. As long as you warm up your accounts and manage the flow properly, you can keep this going for time.

You cannot ask for this kind of advice unless you state -

Where are you located

Where is your bank located

You are registering a company ? Where ?

Register a cheap USA company in Wyoming (Northwest Agent)

Use Wise or an online bank for your business bank account

Use Authorize.net as a payment processor and sweep the money to your business account

You can never trust paypal for anything

Sincerely,

The Eye
