I am using the same offers from different networks and started split testing to see if it would make any difference in each network. And guess what I am getting a 0.06 epc with adscendmedia and 0.20 - 0.50 with other networks. I am using same offers, same lockers, same content.

This clearly shows that adscendmedia is shaving. I mean what happened to them I use to get much better results with them long ago?

by the way in my opinion mgcash is the best cpa network for incentive offers.

You may want to post some stats before shitting all over a brand, just saying :)

Need more info ;)
- How much volume do you have?
- What countries?
- Are you looking at overall EPCs or a certain country? If you have visotors from counttries for which we have offers and other networks don't even ahve offers, then your EPC will be overall lower because those offers/countries are probably not very good.
- Compare earnings, not EPCs. For the reason above, and because it's easy for networks to shave clicks and say you ahve a great EPC when your earnigns are actually lower.

This clearly shows that adscendmedia is shaving.

It could be the advertiser. The traffic from adscend might not be backing out for the advertiser so they are scrubbing or shaving. This happens all the time.

Keep running that offer from those other networks. Wait a week or two and see if the EPC drops ;)

The way it works is if the advertiser likes the traffic your epc stays stable, but if they dont like your traffic they shave

At what point does shaving become a crime? I mean, really.

Imagine you sold a car with 3 wheels. Or only the left-side mirror. You were just shaving.

A doctor/dentist doesn't use the sufficient dose of anesthetics. Just shaving, relax.

And so on.

Does anyone have legitimate reasons as to why trade commissions don't go around beating up ad networks that do this? Is shaving an accepted, *wink-wink* safe-guard against bullshit leads and blackhat?

I haven't done this in a while - but sustained incentive traffic above .20-.25 seems quite unusual ... unless you have absolute must have content.

but at the same time below 0.08 - means that's pretty crap - bordering on wasting your time.

Milk the High Paying stuff now until it dies then find somewhere else for your traffic besides Adscend.

I have to disagree with you on some things. Shaving in this case IS A CRIME. You are not getting the money that you deserve. If they were to not shave they would get much better reputation and more and more affiliates would join making them more money. 0.07 epc is way too low to be acceptable. I am pretty sure they would still make more then enough if they keep it clean and NOT shave. I wish there was a way to approach the advertisers directly.

You just agreed with me, Mr. Contrarian

Like I said, I guess the best way is to find advertiser directly.

as long as they paid, it's 100% up to you, stay with them or switch.
I prefer stay, I believe them.

If we wanted to increase our margins we would lower payouts, not shave.
You may think that we wouldn't lower our payouts because of competition but I have no idea what other networks pay for the same offers that we have. I don't monitor it or care, because we simply give the highest margin that we are comfortable with and let that be that.
My question though is, is there any network that has ever existed that hasn't had a thread pop up here or elsewhere about how they're "shaving like hell"? I'd be surprised. Does every network on the planet shave? No. Do most, I'll say no. Some? Sure. But it's the first thing that everyone jumps to when their earnings drop or don't meet their expectations, or some other abstract or faulty comparison that they're making.

That is all -- carry on ;)

EDIT:
Also, answers to my earlier questions would probably clear this up.

Well I am pretty sure that nobody looks at it that way. The first thing that any affiliate would look at is the earnings. Giving the highest margin you are comfortable with still does not mean most will like that. Lets say you really are not shaving, and you just have lower payouts that other networks, wouldn't that still encourage me to leave your network and test others for better results.

I just wonder if the advertisers have control over paying us or not for all our leads.

Thanks for your reply anyway,
Elecsho
