Offshore Hosting Review

well technically wachahost doesn't fit the thread description as offshore hosting...

I was referred to wachahost for movie site and so far so good. Had a hard time finding my cpanel as its not clearly marked and they did some server upgrades, other than that stand up. Speed is good, uptime is good...had some challenges and response was slow but service was good. Basically if you know how to get around and know what your doing its decent. They use installitron for wp also which i like. Price was competitive and can change profile info.

The ability to change you profile info... That's handy :D

The talk in this thread should be primarily over offshore hosting, wachahost doesn't appear to be offshore. However it has a little more liberal views on the content you host and how they handle complaints against your sites. This currently is working for me and one of my projects. It also appears that one of BHW members run/own it, which may prove to be a good thing.

Before you purchase hosting, do your homework. Yes listening to people from this forum and others is a good place to start. But at the end of the day... The decision you make, you will have to own it. Don't no where to start? Try:

For a quick search-
whois.domaintools dot com

Better yet put the tool on you machine
domaintools dot com

Things I tend to look at are IP address, physical address, phone number (one that works), terms of service (yes read it), traffic to the host, age of company which isn't to say a new company is bad... It may have spun off another for growth reasons. So after all that you find yourself back here or some other forum asking questions as I am... Because word of mouth is still perceived to be the truth whether is is or isn't.

Good Luck!

Ive been looking for a web host in the Netherlands would love to see this kind of list.

wrzhost says they have servers in Netherlands among other places... I've not been happy with them. I'd ask around more before proceeding ;)

Ok I said I was done talking about wrzhost... However I thought this needed reporting. Trying to get a refund from these Jokers... and getting the run around with off the wall replys from their staff... Here's a most recent tweet from wrzhost:

"WRZHost is no longer able to support shared accounts; your hosting and support have been transferred to our partner 1plus1hosting." 9:06 am Sep 4th

Now I didn't signup for shared hosting... However, I thought some would like to know that these two are connected...

I own wrzhost again so if you need direct contact just add me on skype --> wrzhost
shared is not available anymore on wrzhost since it only caused problems.

Well that's cool... I think?
I've been getting a major run around about my refund - Which was said to processed in 24-48?

Here's a ticket # HRT-861921
or
Refund Order Number: 7785090818

Your help here would go a long way (in my mind) as to redeeming wrzhost
Thanks

I can't process refunds as all the old payments were sent to a paypal that was limited and whidh is not mine.
I'm sorry for that.

I'm sorry for that.

It didn't go to PayPal, it was to MoneyBookers payable to: "Online Innovations Network" for: $67.95
Is tippie "Online Innovations Network" ?

Now all you have to say is "I'm sorry"

Why come to this forum and tell everyone that you "again" Tippie own's wrzhost ? Like it's some form of a benefit...

When you can't help any old business... But now you want to drum up new business?

Dude you could learn a little on customer/client relations...

I'm telling you "...I got screwed by your company" WRZHOST!

And all you have to say is "I'm sorry"

Ya you sure are... sorry that is...

FYI - There are quite a few things you could of said instead of "I'm sorry"
How about:
dig into your own pocket for the refund?
how about a couple of months free?
Etc...
Etc...

And by the way... I think a good way to find a spam or warezhoster is to check out spamsites and watch at their hoster. Because these hosters probably will be fine.

Oinoc is the company of the guys who used to run wrzhost for about a year but in august paypal was limited and things got worse and all I could to was take over again to show the clients that wrzhost is not dead.
We have some free space now so you can contact me for a free month if you still want it, I can't erase the past but I'm sure that I can give everyone a decent service in the future.

Wrzhost SUXXXXXXXXX, they used to be good but now they dont reply to tickets, the hosting/FTP is as slow as a snail (if it even connects), they steal your money and dont even bother to set up the service you paid for, and the list goes on and on, dont use these guys whatever you do.

i always used underhost and anytime someone complains they tell them to shove off...
dmca request... shove off...
support answers in a few hours usually too...

If what your saying is true...

I signed up for a server on 8/30/2010 - So then I paid YOU!

Not Oinoc...

I have had success with

ddos-shield.com .. owner is in Slovenia and hosts from UK/NL/various offshore locations. will host anything except illegal pr0n, free CPanel probably a reseller, will do up private domains no problem (enter in all fake info). Lot's of HYIPs use these guys.

2x4.ru will host anything except the usual illegal porn. speed is good on russian VPS no CPanel my sites have had no complaints even though jealous competitors have pounded their inboxes with all sorts of fake DMCA notices and such.

'Matador' a special service out of Russia that will host anything except illegal porn, and hides the servers from authorities with clever networking. they specialize in extreme blackhat and do VPS for $150/mth or Dedicated for $400 no reselling. you could be openly selling microsoft source code or weapons and they wouldn't care/respond to any legal threats. pm for contact info they only use encrypted ICQ or jabber .. grandhost.cc is another one of these specialty hosting services for extreme risk sites.

antiddos.biz a ukrainian host will build custom FreeBSD servers, make them 'hacker proof' through auditing, and will host anything (no CP). if you need crazy security they are the place to go (ask for openbsd installation) many of the carder forums use them. site is all in russian but if you email/icq they respond in english. definitely the best ddos proof hosting as these forums typically blast each other with giant botnets yet they're still up 24/7
