ABOUT
Hi there! I'm new to the forum, even thought I have this account since a long time. I just found out that there's this Instagram thread where you guys post helpful stuff and started reading more and more about it. This is how I found the software that I'm using at the moment for growing my personal Instagram account, which is travel oriented.

I started using Jarvee on the 27th of November - back then I had 900 followers - and now after 40 days I have 4000. In my opinion, that's a good growth, but still, that's a newbie's first time when using software to boost its audience. Therefore, not sure if it's enough or if there's something I could do better in order to grow even more. You guys are the experts, I'm just learning the ropes.

I don't use Stories, I do it only on very rare occasions. I don't do Shoutouts, I don't get Shoutouts back. I don't post videos, I use only photos.

QUEST
Being a personal account, all the content that I post is unique. I do not re-post other users' photos/videos. I get a lot of feedback from my friends and not only, that I should start monetising it and treat my 'travel addiction' more seriously.

The goal is to get myself a bigger audience and start getting money, products or free travel opportunities, while posting great stuff on Instagram. Easy, huh?

QUESTIONS
  • Is there something like a trustworthy website, Facebook group or forum thread where Instagram users exchange shoutouts? You see a lot of accounts with less than 5K followers that do this, but that's irrelevant in my opinion. You're looking to get a medium to big pool of users, right?
  • How can I monetise this personal account? Influencer Marketing agencies? Going straight to the brands to get your "free cookies"?
  • Are there any good Influencer Marketing agencies that you could use to get an income? Such as portals where you basically find brands/brands find you for collaborations?
  • Do things like "paid posts" or "paid stories" work for Instagram?
  • You think 5000 followers is a good milestone to get the "influencer game" started?

These being said, I'm looking forward to your answers, gentlemen.

I think you should have 300,000 followers for $ 1- $ 5 posts
I live in Bucharest, Romania. One of my friends, a beauty-niched blogger, got a €500 per post offer, from a global brand that produces hair dyeing products.
She's not part of an Influencer Marketing agency and she's got a 12K followers pool on Instagram. She also has a blog, but that's not that big, either. Just saying.

You need publicity and value added.

In romania very many webmasters as well.
You also need to compete with them.

If the product marketer buys your instagram post.
What for him for them

Find a sponsor if your doing travel posts. Advertise their services, which will most likely be tourist services. I don't know how much they pay, or how they pay at all, but I think this is your best bet.

I'm afraid I didn't catch the last part of your message, my friend.

So what you're saying is basically go after the brands, huh? The idea is that the brands don't have stand-alone people working for them, specially on social-media. The big multinationals/brands work with advertising agencies. Kinda hard finding the contacts. Even harder piercing through that thick armor of the social media people, as they're working maybe with ambassadors worthing more than 50K followers. That's locally, anyways.

I thought there were platforms for influencers where start-ups/smaller brands would pay for visibility.

if you have a very special nicht or great personal account you can be lucky and get some orders. if you are a board niche like travel you must be much bigger to get some attention form somewhere .....

5k is nothing. Once you hit 20k you'll start getting opportunities coming to you.

I'd recommend not botting your account, to much of a high risk of getting your account fucked up by Instagram and it's really slow. Instead, get some quality powerlikes and you'll be able to grow your account 10k easily per month organically if your content is good.

This is a way better way of growing your account. Your followers will be SO SO much better that if you'd botted them. (Engagement will be a lot better)

I'd probably put most of my effort into just growing and not focusing on monetising it yet as any account under 20k doesn't really mean much. Once you're over that, deals will start to full into your hands naturally.

Remember - Content is King
- You have to be consistent, never give up

Good luck!

Yes, I'm aware it's not that special - basically good taken photos, from my travels and lifestyle based visuals - but I'll stick for the moment with growing and then finding a way to monetise the account.

What? I have 340,000 followers, and I charge $45 for a 6 hour post. I sell about 30 - 40 of these a month.
That's a good revenue, in my opinion. These offers come directly to you, or are you registered through a website where people could find you?
Also, what niche are you playing in?

My recommendation would be to build a website. It will make you more legitimate and open more avenues for monetization
That's hell of an advice, exactly what I was planning to do. But still, even with the website, I'm a complete noob and I don't know how to pull visitors. Also, I don't want to invest a lot into website traffic. I want to make it grow semi-organically, in order to have "real visitors" able to comment, like and share.

Got it, 20K is my new milestone! My engagement rate is pretty good right now, in my opinion, and definitely that's because of the bot, as I configured it to filter only people from Romania, looking for specific hashtags or keywords in the bio, etc. This brings me "real followers", even though I used a bot to get to them.

As per the quality powerlikes, I don't know what to say. Buying myself likes/follows doesn't seem like an option, as they would be gone immediately after not investing money into it. The power-shoutouts will be the same - hell, I saw some cases where a friend bought a $20 - 24hrs shoutout from a travel account on Instagram with more than 100K followers - and got less than 100 followers, which decreased the following days. The fact is that.. I don't trust either of these 2 sources, to put it straight.

To the new goal! 20K, here I come!

You won't have to pay for traffic. Keep building your instagram following and the traffic will flow through to your site. Boost it with some guest posts, and it all builds. Best of luck to you

Do you know what powerlikes are? They will put your content on the explorer page and all the new traffic there will results in followers. These are the best quality followers you will ever get as they followed you because they liked your content!

It's defiantly a good investment.
