I have a hard time doing keyword research, every keyword I find is high KD or doesn't have any volume (long tail keywords)

Also, I have a another client which is a ecommerce marketing agency and I can't find ANY long tail keywords, and all the short ones are high KD

I've tried guides from here but they weren't really helpful

Any tips?

So you went through probably 30 guides that are here on the forum, found none of them helpful and you expect that someone by some miracle gives you an absolute unique gem of an information in a couple sentences?

not all of them, prob 5 of them, honestly I think imma read all of them to memorize everything

Thanks for the help

Both KD and Volume are total BS with any tool. The data is inaccurate and not even close to reality.

Check the SERP manually. You’ll find a ton of low competition keywords in any niche.
But how do I know if they're actually being used and/or be able to rank on them?

But how do I know if they're actually being used and/or be able to rank on them?

You have to check the SERP manually. As of now, there’s no tool that has a reliable keyword difficulty metric.

Some tools like Lowfruits do a better job than the backlink based ones but even they are not completely reliable.

@IonutAtair I just wrote this in another thread yesterday, here is how you do it:

For search volume use Keywords Everywhere, bulk export from SEMRush and into KE (It's a chrome extension, 100K SV for $10). It is the most accurate SV I have found so far.

Keyword difficulty scores are mostly garbage, however, for bulk analysis they are somewhat effective. You should instead filter your lists by keyword length >= 4, this way you'll get mostly long tails that are for the most part not going to be as competitive (you will still have to do competition analysis). If you want to take this a step further, place an additional filter for KW difficulty (these scores vary from tool to tool so pick one that is lowish usually 10 or below)

Once you have a filtered list, copy and paste every keyword in google search one by one for manual analysis and look for the following characteristics (in order of difficulty low to high):

1. Easiest: Forum threads, reddit, quora, and any user generated content sites showing up in the top positions targeting or not targeting your keyword.

2. Easy: Weaker sites in top positions. To judge site strength I use the free MOZ DA bar. Look for sites <= DA 30. Yes DA can be manipulated, but in large quantities, it is statistically significant because the majority does not inflate DA with spammy practices.

3. Still Easy: Authority sites appearing in the SERP but are not targeting your keyword, they are there because google has nothing else to show. If they are not satisfying search intent, then you can beat them with some site age and minimal links to your home page (not the page you are trying to rank). You just want some authority going.

For a new site, I wouldn't go beyond these three points. Spend time doing keyword research upfront so you have a content map. Cluster your keywords, which is basically grouping all similar keywords together and then write your content in clusters so you can interlink all related articles with each other and then move on to the next cluster. Write your content for the reader. Cater to the search intent, and fuck everyone else. You want to answer the search query better than your competition.

Good luck!

I often use the keyword tool there but there are related keywords, I often write according to those keywords, it is less KD and also quite effective when writing a lot.

Now that I've read and tried them, I still don't know what the fuck I'm doing

Like every keyword is dogshit, I can't find NO long tail keywords

Also, some guides from there are for amazon affiliates, and I'm currently working for a real estate and digital marketing agency

Real estate keywords are going to be like: apartment rentals in <city>/<county>, single family homes for sale in < >, 3 bedroom condo for ... - you need to be creative and use your brain. Generate related keywords from one of those sites such as answer the public and once you have a list, remove duplicates, then run them through a bulk volume checker ($10 for 100K Keywords everywhere) *save your diaper money to buy this if you don't have any $* then analyze top 10 for each viable keyword. Now repeat for closely related cities and counties. This is all you need.

I am using 2 3 keyword finder tools , 1st semrush it is an seo keyword tool very helpfull , 2nd google analytics it also very good and free of cost, 3rd is keyword.io, so use these keyword tools and make your own keyword this is the best possible way to find keywords for SEO

There are so many guides here that hundreds of other members found useful and liked. And you say that you do not like a single one. Look deeper.

If I were you, I would first analyze the competitors and use their keywords that rank well. If the niche is too big use semrush. Select keywords with a good volume and analyze the search engine results (first page). If the first page is taken by very big sites then you should not use the keyword. But if a keyword has a very big volume you can have traffic on the second page.
