Been at a massive marketing/business event for the past week doing all their social media stuff, so had to put the blogs on hold for a couple days.

If you are over 25 working 8 hours a a day in the UK, you'll earn about £65 and after paying your taxes it will be about £60 per day. If you are less then 25 years of age, you'll get less. A 17 year old person working 8 hours a day at minimum wage, you'll get about £35 per day for working 8 hours.

The UK is an expensive place and just to live in a big city such as London without anything fancy, the living wage is about £10 an hour so that is £80 for the day.

I used to run massive underground music events, so I changed the branding on that account as I no longer do that.

First of all, I just want to apologise for my absence here. I've been working very hard on padding out content on the website and then Black Friday came and well... you know the rest.

Since I last updated my progress here, I have seen some amazing results! Much more than I was expecting to see.

I MADE MY FIRST MONEY FROM DOING SOMETHING I LOVE!!!

It may not seem like much to anyone else, but this is huge for me.

This is the first time I've made money from doing something I love doing and without investing stupid amounts in things that I believed would get me rich (and trust me I've wasted a lot on doing this).

Who would have thought, all it took was a little bit of hard work eh?

CURRENT STATUS

So you're all probably wondering where I'm at right now.

Let me explain...

I have been keeping up with 1 blog post/day during workday weeks (need to up this I know) & all social media postings and growth.

My plan was to populate the site with 8 pieces of content per day, but I've decided to focus on giving higher value content at a lower rate. I feel this is better for SEO and rankings, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

I made my first 15 affiliate sales from Black Friday, so I'm thinking the affiliate route is the best way to go right now as Google Adsense keep disqualifying me for some reason I'm unsure of.

I am now ranking for my first organic keywords! Albeit I'm at rank 90 something, but still... this is progress for me!

I've got 2 new blog writers providing content for free and plans to get them to build courses for me when the site gets enough traffic.

Above all of that... I'm even more motivated to succeed at this.

So...

Where am I at money wise?

Backlinks: 0 (struggling with this)

I'm beyond impressed to read your thread, this is less than a month since you started your journey.

I think just reading your post is giving me a push to go so something on the field that I love. Somehow I've paid for a particular domain for 5 years now. I'm learning from your progress and I'll sure start something myself.

Ok so Christmas has been a bit hectic with seeing family and I've also given myself a bit of a rest.

I usually work long days of 09:00 - 23:00, so I needed to re-charge a little.

This means the progress on my website has lacked and I feel kinda shitty about it, but I know I've gotta look after myself too.

ALL IS NOT LOST THOUGH!

During the break I decided to do a little footwork and call my old schools and see if I could get backlinks on their alumni pages (they're the biggest schools in my town, so figured they got a great DA rating, which they do).

I also called round a shop in my area that offer a section on their website for lessons & local tutors.

I figured...

Since I'm giving everything away for free on my site, people could use my help when they're already out of pocket for a big purchase.

Haven't seen any backlinks show up on ahrefs yet, so I've got some following up to do. I'm going to wait until after the New Year because not everyone is a workaholic like us here on blackhatworld ;).

Also my job recently let me join their 50k mastermind (where they help you get from 0 - 50k), so it's gonna be great to mingle with other people who are running businesses and get help (I'm a noob).

Anyway I'm rambling.

Just a few questions:

You said you made 15 affiliate sales - were these through amazon or another platform? Also, where did the traffic come from that resulted in those 15 sales?

How is it possible that you found 2 blog writers for free?

Thanks for the reply :)

Those 15 affiliate sales were through another platform. It's a place where people can purchase plugin software. Don't really want to share my niche, so would prefer not to link the site.

The traffic came from Reddit forums and Facebook groups where I posted the article. It got a lot of votes and likes so people clicked through and bought!

I have made friends with two people in my niche who are willing to write content for me for free basically. I'm not sure they'll do it consistently, but they want to help with the website. Maybe they want more exposure for their stuff or they're just plain nice... who knows?

Min wage is £8.21, so an 8 hour day is around £66.
