Hey, fellow blackhat-ers.

It's time to finally lay my personal goal on paper since I believe 2019 should be the year I start working on the projects I've been visualizing for so long now. Hopefully, by having to write it down, I won't have the opportunity to turn around and come up with some lame excuse of why things did not happen. Instead, I will be able to actually see where the problem was - my laziness, lack of creativity & imagination or the lack of actual knowledge on how things work. While the last part is where I will focus my main attention, I do hope that everyone out here could bring something to the table too. Whether it's an advice or even better, a hateful comment, I salute you all.

Let's briefly summarize who I am and what I do for a living. Currently at 25 years old, I'm working a full time job as a Conference & Evens Manager at a luxury 5* star hotel resort. With a Bachelor degree in Tourism and a Master's degree in Sales Management, I guess I've had it coming. One might think I'm living the dream since most of my university colleagues are doing far worse in life. That's not how I think though. Over the past year me and a close friend of mine (he's an actual athlete & doctor) managed to start our own sports wear brand. Having only one product, we actually managed to sell enough of it to invest in a second one...and that's when things stopped. My full time job hit me hard once the Summer season had started and I couldn't find the spare time, focus & energy to continue with the project we recently started. Even though I was responsible for every campaign we've made (literally from coming up with an idea for a photo shoot and actually shooting with my own technical equipment, editing the photos and setting up a facebook/ig ad), I loved the whole process. I still got more than 50 shirts in my wardrobe, so who knows - we might want to consider trying once again.

This however is not my main purpose in the upcoming year. I've always been a nerd (at least the first 16 years of my life) and used to spent hours after hours watching youtubers like nigahiga, smosh, kevjumba, livelavalive, kassemg. Commercial photography and cinematography, combined with Social Media Marketing is basically my obsession for the last 3 years. Not only that, but I'm an active fitness enthusiast and have a "above the average" knowledge on workout routines, as well as nutrition and diets. That should worth something, especially in a country with a population, which is less than 7 million. Over the last weeks I've been thinking on how I could combine all my interest and start producing some quality content, which could actually have some value to others.

The initial plan is to start a review webisodes, where I'll promote the luxury hotels in my city (scale up to the whole country in the future). Since I've already established myself in the industry, I have the connections needed. Not only that, but I've already secured the first 2 pilot episodes as I call them. My girlfriend is a Front-Office Manager at one of the top properties around and could easily arrange a "day use" stay without charges. Adding my workplace, now I've got 2 locations without having to pay a dime. Since I'm sure people will show great amount of interest into that luxurious niche, I plan to name the videos something like "1 300$ a night for a hotel". This will definitely trigger the viewer and won't be a lie, since the price for the most expensive two-bedroom deluxe apartment at my resort is 1 300 in local currency (around 700 EUR) - with breakfast included. From then on, I'll start reaching out to other properties, explaining them who I am & what I do. Chance is they will like the idea and could offer the same conditions or even better (free nights, etc). I don't plan to ask for money, at least not in the beginning since it will be more like "getting to know me" scenario. While me and my team are doing all that, I will continue posting the typical lifestyle posts on my social channels. Why not creating short videos on "Outfit of the Day" or something similar - whatever keeps my credibility. By doing that, there's a large chance that some of the local brands offer me a sponsorship - let's say they will be giving me clothes which I could wear in my webisodes or OOTD series. Needless to say, I'll create my own website and start posting articles with affiliate links in it.

So far we've got:
1) Creating a webisodes on reviewing luxury hotels in my city
2) Creating a quality photo/video content on the "lifestyle" niche
3) Creating a personal website
4) Contacting brands and properties, so they know who I am & what I do
5) Building an image of a Public Figure

Since I believe that people don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it, I have one master mind plan to introduce myself to the local community. I've created an Instagram profile two years ago, where I share the best photos (in my opinion) of our beloved city. It has 10k followers, organically, and is well established. Not long ago I've created a Facebook page and might add it's going quite slow, but I'll get there eventually. The main idea here is starting a humoristic online show, called "insert name of town here ON". Basically, I'll go around the crowded streets of the city and ask random people what's their opinion on the current trending topic in the city/country. I've already seen it work, so why not give it a try. Only after having an episode or two of that show, I could start with my main purpose for the year.

If you are still reading this last lines, share your opinion with me. Is it a bat plan, is it lacking a character or a structured step by step? I'm willing to receive negative comments, as long as they'll help preventing future failure & wasting time.

Always support someone who goes the branding route, good luck man. You're up against some tough competition, but with the right branding, creativeness, tenacity anything's possible. Create solid value, find some leverage to establish yourself, find out what your competitiors aren't doing and exploit that. Its tough because nobody gives a shit about you especially when your creating a brand.

As outrageous it may seem, I believe that the main goal is achievable. Not without a great amount of trials & errors, even set backs, but achievable enough so I could keep grinding.

I'm watching this thread, hope you can achieve your goal

Good luck on your journey, been thinking of taking this route for my social media business!

Good luck, remember if you are choosing this path, it is no longer about you. Everything you do should be for the consumers/audience and them only. You got to keep giving back to them if you want them to follow your journey.

Play the macro game: might not take 1 year, but 3/5/10 years.
And lastly, keep in mind that the best marketing strategy is: to CARE.

I know it's a marathon, not a sprint. We are here for the long run, so I will definitely chase that long term relationship between the audience at myself. Will keep regular updates on here ;)

It is usually hard to brand oneself and takes time but at the same time it is really profitable after some point with a big audience.
