I started a wordpress fitness blog around 6 month ago. I have 10 articles posted, written by myself. Is in spanish language. I have a lot of experience on fitness field so I think the content it's ok, easy to read, long enough and bringing valuable knowledge. The SEO plugin YOAST is giving me green light in all of them, so the keyword and titles are well used. I didn't need to grow it fast. I wanted to grow slowly and solid, but the patience have a limit. The problem is that I didn't grow a shit. I mean after 6 month with apparently 10 quality articles with good SEO and everything indexed I'm not getting visits at all. Well some days I can see 1, 2 or 3 visits in the internal analytics but other days just 0. And even maybe those visits are just bots. I don't have good knowledge about SEO and ranking, I just know the basic of basic. The only SEO work I did on that blog is be sure that all the articles have a good score about readability and SEO from YOAST SEO plugin, and upload the sitemap to google console. I know that this is the minimum and there is a lot of more things to do to improve the visivility and ranking, but I'm not an expert and I don't have that knowledge, and there is a lots of people like me even with less knowledge that have blogs and are getting visits. I was thinking that google is ready to push people that don't have knowledge in SEO but are contributing with quality content. Obviously I wasn't expecting tons of visits, but at least some of them daily and slow growing as long as I post quality original articles. Once realized that this is not working, can someone here advise me on what I should do to start getting traffic to my blog? Thank you.
1. Make content for your target audience.
- What do your readers do?
- What problems do your readers have and how can you help them?
- What articles do they like to read most (this is suitable for those who already have a blog and an audience)?
- What attracts them the most?
If your content meets all these requirements, you have every chance to get more traffic.
2. Use bright headlines to get more clicks.
The title of your article should cling to the reader. Users will see it in the news feed or in the search results. Make sure to use the keyword in the title so that users can see it.
It is also important that the title be useful and answer the user's question, and be emotionally attractive.
3. Make a schedule for the release of your posts
Absolutely all site optimizers know that if your website or blog is systematically updated, then the search engines believe that your blog or website is alive. It means there is constantly up-to-date content and can be recommended to users.
To do this, there is a special plug-in, which will automatically publish your posts. WordPress already has this built-in feature. You can use it. You can also plan content in your notebook, Excel or Google Calendar.
4. Optimize content
What you need to optimize:
- use keywords (key) in the title, description, and in one of the subtitles;
- use the key request in the link (url) - it doesn't matter if it is Cyrillic or Latin, because search robots have already learned to understand both options;
- make lists, headings, and subheadings in the text, leave pictures;
- use the key in the first paragraph of the text and in the last;
- always do only unique content. You can check the uniqueness using text.ru or advego.ru;
- Always leave a keyword in the alt tag for images.
5. Leave links to your other articles.
Be sure to leave links to other articles on your blog. This is called internal optimization. If you leave links to an article on a similar article in your own blog, users will be happy to click on it. For a search robot, this will mean that your blog is interesting and should be shown to more.
6. Be active on the forums
Think about who your readers are. Next, select several forums based on your topic and start chatting with users.
I think these short tips will help you
