Google July 2021 Core Update Released

I meant the June first core update (the CLS first update) and this core update.

But yeah, the 23rd one is the first SPAM update. The second spam update was rolled out about a week later. And yes, some of my sites were hit too despite they are NOT SPAM. But those that first benefited from the June first CLS update had another boost again from ths July core update.
Yeah same my site is not at all a spam neither did link building nothing just publishing content regularly don't know why this happened anyway hopefully site will bounce back to its original ranking soon.

best of luck

one site i have lost 75% traffic, it's a EU site that surprisingly was not affected by last years updates when all other sites fell great.. but finally it got hit too..

otherwise not seeing much movement on 99 other sites..

If there is an update then manage the expectation that we will have to wait until it is over to react. You don't start the repairs while the earthquake is still happening.
This! I hate reading it when people take a knee jerk reaction to it.
Curiously enough, GSC is suggesting that I had a dip on the 30th June and then bounced back on the 1st July.

I've had a look manually and a lot of the terms I was ranking in #1 or #2 for have slid all the way down to the bottom of page 1. At this point, I'm not overly concerned, it's still bringing in affiliate sales. I was a bit gutted though that one page in particular was ranking above The Sun, and now they've re-claimed their spot. Bandits!
Oh and I should have added that this site has 9 links in total pointing to it and it's well over a year old now.

It's information and review based, but it is about a topic that I know nearly as much about as my 9-5 job. It's a niche I've been involved in for 8 years now as a passionate hobby, and in hindsight I should have started a site based on it a long time ago.

As I've said elsewhere on here, the actual input and thoughts into a review or best of guide has to have authority behind them. There's a lot of shit reviews that have tanked because it's just a generic run down of the points on Amazon. I do wonder if this update is a further expansion of page speed and what not. I'll be looking at the site and seeing how the speeds are looking and after the dust settles in a few weeks, make the necessary changes.

European site - lost almost 25% of the traffic and lots of keywords got hit!

my sites didn't move at all, maybe impact will be weak

The impact has been massive in Europe it seems when looking at semrush sensor, mozcast and other serps checkers.

My impression on GSC getting dropped significantly, so this must be due to the Google update, I just knew it

No movements so far.
Anyone with sites in foreign languages?
I do. 1/3 lost 50% of traffic, other 2 are untouched. Seems some articles got de-indexed completely (happened before the update regularly, no biggie), but lost a lot of rankings in top 7 to #14-18.

We'll see how it pans out, still maintaining some snippets which means I'm not that affected.

for those who went down in ranking, it would help to say how your web vital scores are. want to see if there are any correlations

One site that got hit.... Its score was 91-95 out of 100. 99 on desktop.

Another site that benefited/boosted from the update was also in the green area.

I guess this update also looks at your backlinks and 'authority' value. So if you and your competitor are equal in backlinks/authority, but your vital score is higher... You'll definitely outrank him. I guess this whole vital score is just a ranking factor and a major one, just like HTTPS.

Idk. My DA is about 7 points higher then my competitors who out ranked me. Not all, but some. I think it has a lot to do with website age. My sites only 8 months old while they are all 2+ years. Also, like I previously stated. I am getting beat by some yahoo answer Pages. That are blank lol...it might be a mix of age and authority. My speeds are also each above 95. Last I checked my mobile was 98 and my desktop was 99.

I'm in the green on both the mobile and desktop tests for the majority of my oahes and they've taken a hammering. Hopefully they'll bounce back asap.

Edit- I've just had a look at one of the terms that tanked pretty hard yesterday and it's now jumped back to #25. Not bad considering that it was at #23 before this kicked off.

Some of my pages are very seasonal.

One of my summer season pages was in 6th for the main kw, a competitor like my site was in 5th, big sites took the top 4. My page speed insights are 90 etc and core vitals passes in gsc.

This page dropped to 8th, my competitor went to 1. His page speed insights score is 16. So all I see is page speed bollocks.

One of my winter seasonal pages jumped up from page 2 to position 3.

Both pages are very similar and kw difficultly similar, wierd.

The reason I see my competitor is ranking above me is that he has 500 quality referring domains and I have 270.

However I don’t keep up with all the shit that goes on anymore, it’s just for the fun.

Hoping to ride this one out, lost 1/3 of organic traffic.
So will it be about 2 weeks if everything bounces back to where it was before?
