Somehow I don't see a thread on this topic which is pretty surprising, as this update has been absolutely massive even though it's not fully rolled out.

Here is the official announcement:

It will take 1-2 weeks to rollout, but in some European countries that I monitor it has been huge. IMO the biggest update this year, if not in a few years.

What are your results so far?

Webmasters: I can't see anything. It's all dark here :anyway:

not seeing affect on my websites, maybe it started in eu first

Not so much impact right now.
As big 'G' keeps on rolling algo's, we ourselves get optimized, Lol :D
Let's see, what comes in for our turn.

I'm almost positive that it started in the EU first. I've been checking some USA terms and haven't noticed much change. But in EU, there have been some massive changes, bigger than I've seen in years. Or maybe it's just because I monitor more 'dark hat' keywords, not sure... we'll have to see what happens when it hits the larger markets.

Lost positions on a lot of keywords. But like previous times, hoping to recover them back as the initial dust settles down. Too early to comment right now *fingers crossed*

Agreed, I've seen this type of thing before. I think it was the May 2020 update that really nuked many of my sites. But after a few weeks when the dust settled down, the algorithm seemed to be tweaked to where many of my sites recovered.

Quick question, for people just starting out with Ranking their sites, is this is a good time to double down as its more an opportunity for them?

It seems Google Tells us to keep optimized regularly to make our site look updated and also out of spam.

I am also starting out. The way I see it, each update makes it harder to rank iff you are relying on the older SEO strategies - high exact keyword density, high exact match anchors, spammy links, sites that don't even try to hide the fact that they are PBNs etc

So if you rely on better content and link building strategies then there is always money on the table. What I like to do is find a handful of competitors sites that have survived all these updates, and copy what they are doing. These updates are a great way to figure out what's good in the eyes of Google.

At the end of the day, everything is a risk when Google (and Amazon if you are relying on affiliate $) are involved. The algorithms are moody and sometimes very trigger happy to knock your websites down.

These guys are on steroids....so many updates recently....but still can't take out well hidden pbn's.

I noticed that sites that had a boost from the June update got even more boost from this update. It is like amplifying the effect from the June update. This further confirms as one site that I had been tracking was tanked a little further after being hit from the June update.

Again, too early to say as we need 1-2 weeks for it to fully roll out. And I must point out that this is from my observation and humble opinion.

But from my experience, as long as you feel the positive effects or benefits from the initial start of the update, you're very likely to have a positive outcome after the roll out is fully done... Because it just means your site has fulfilled whatever criteria the algorithm update is looking for.

Be skeptical of ranking losses and manually check them before freaking out.
Manage the expectation that it might be a little more difficult to get pages indexed at the moment.
It may be a LOT more difficult if you have a javascript website that relies in rendering for SEO content.

If there is an update then manage the expectation that we will have to wait until it is over to react. You don't start the repairs while the earthquake is still happening.

My site gained x5 in traffic but not for my language but for other languages that are not related to my site at all. Very weird....
