I'll cut to the chase: FB ads on Instagram allows you to generally grow slowly by targeting a specific audience. SO if you are selling a service or a product you are more likely to get MORE LEADS by investing let's say $500 with FB than paying someone $500 a month to grow your account using M/C method or similar. But again being so targeted will not allow you to grow too fast (with FB ads).
I can see how these method has evolved into something different. Nowadays it even includes mass story viewing, mass DMs, poll answers, etc. This makes the target even less specific because more target accounts are needed to make the method work.
So unless you are in a very wide niche, you will have a hard time reaching the right people. HOWEVER, you will see a much faster growth and if you are lucky, it is very possible you also get some sales, but again, most likely your money will be better invested into instagram for that puspose.
I would recommend M/C and similar methods only in the following scenarios :
-You cannot advertise on Instagram due to your location or lack of payment method
-If you are heavily into Crypo, gambling, sex, Pro Trump / Conservative content, or any other niche that is frown upon by Mark's geek team
-If you are an artist or an influencer with no purpose of selling directly but just looking to grow a fan base.
I may be missing a few points here but you get the idea. If you feel this is different kindly do tell and lets have a meaningful conversation
