Cheaper than Hostgator?

You have to use coupons. AWP80OFF will get you $80 off one year of shared hosting with DreamHost, so you'll have to pay only like $39 or so for the year. I don't think there's a better deal available at the moment. This is crazy cheap!!!

I advise you to avoid both Hostgator and Godaddy.

I'd go with the Dreamhost most basic plan and get a 97$ coupon for the first year. Just google it, it's easy to find them

Cheaper hosts are available from A2hosting.com and QHoster.com, plans are full-featured and uptime is high.

Is there a reason that you advised him to avoid Hostgator or Godaddy?

If you are going to tell someone to not go with a host or company that has been serving for more than 5 years, at least say why you think so...

I've been with hostgator for two years now and had NO problems at all and I am hosting 20+ domains on a baby plan all running wordpress.

No speed problems, no down times. And yet you are saying "I advise you to AVOID." No valid reason means that you're just a hater with nothing good to say. Give a valid reason next time you insult a company(s) that are serving thousands of happy customers.

OP, you can pick up coupons all the time for cheap hosting but looking for the cheapest host isn't something you should spend too much time on.
Look at up-time, reliability and customer satisfaction, look at hosts that meet your sites needs.
If this is your first site then concentrate on building your site and getting traffic then look at hosting deals in 12 months.

I bet your sites receive very little traffic. 20 sites on shared hosting confirms it.
Most of us have used/use hostgator and it isn't the company it once was. I would still recommend them to a noob just starting out but for anybody else I would say look elsewhere.
