TL;DR DO NOT RECOMMEND HOSTGATOR WHEN YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT

So this is seriously getting out of control as of lately.

I'm seeing countless threads on people complaining about iPage and BlueHost and then 20 replies from people recommending HostGator.

For the last time, THEY ARE THE SAME DAMN COMPANY!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endurance_International_Group

In fact I'll list them for lazy people:
  • 2slick.com
  • AccountSupport
  • A Small Orange
  • ApolloHosting
  • Berry Information Systems L.L.C.
  • BizLand
  • BlueDomino
  • Bluehost
  • Dollar2Host
  • Domain.com
  • DomainHost
  • Dot5Hosting
  • Dotster
  • easyCGI
  • eHost
  • EntryHost
  • FastDomain
  • FatCow
  • FreeYellow
  • Glob@t
  • Homestead
  • HostCentric
  • HostClear
  • HostGator
  • Hostnine
  • HostMonster
  • hostwithmenow.com
  • HostYourSite.com
  • HyperMart
  • IMOutdoors
  • Intuit Websites
  • iPage.com
  • IPOWER/iPowerWeb
  • JustHost
  • MyDomain
  • MyResellerHome
  • NetFirms
  • Networks Web Hosting
  • Nexx
  • PowWeb
  • PureHost
  • ReadyHosting.com
  • Saba-Pro
  • SEO Hosting
  • Southeast Web
  • Spry
  • StartLogic
  • SuperGreen Hosting
  • USANetHosting
  • VirtualAvenue
  • VPSLink
  • WebHost4Life
  • Webstrike Solutions
  • Xeran
  • YourWebHosting

Even the replies promoting Hostgator are horrendous and extrememly vague which are 99% along the lines of:

Use HostGator, they are the best hosting company in the World
I use HostGator, they are much better than iPage and BlueHost

While current customers are welcome to discuss problems at HostGator etc in this section, promoting HostGator is now Prohibited!

If we see anyone posting 3 word replies recommending HostGator from now on, you will be issued a infraction.

If you need to find hosting:
There are ample amounts of suitable hosts in the Hosting Section of the marketplace: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/f196-hosting/

Well, that's not a news, I have mentioned this already on BHW but no one cares. The thing is , if the same company own Pepsi and Coke, what can you expect when it comes to hosting? A group of people is holding all the companies...The thing is, you didn't dig deep enough.
It is not Endurance International Group a real owner, you didn't dig deep enough...dig deeper and I bet you will reach Rockefeller or some of his friends

And many of the rest are just HG resellers.

@SkyRocket -> it wouldn't surprise me if the Fed/Telco syndicate isn't behind them all somewhere.

All i want is a reliably decent non-HG host.

Hostgator is sold to another company. Go thru Wikipedia link posted here.

but quality didn't changed

I also don't understand this thread

Endurance International Group is broad term and that doesn't mean that all this hosting providers offering the same thing.
And nobody can't tell me that ipage is same thing as hostgator
they are not even close to hostgator. I used both and still using hostgator and ipage won't touch ever again.
I can even go further and talk about how hostgator's support is better, downtimes and other things.
So i think those hostings are not same even thought they have same owner

@mods
there is a possibility that I completely misunderstood the point of this thread and if so please delete my comment

I don't understand the purpose of this thread. Before and after being bought off, they still use the same hardware/establishments.

I currently use four different hosting services, including HostGator and another one that's in your list and so far the only hosting service that disappointed me was GoDaddy.

So we can not have our own opinions anymore ?
I have no idea what i am talking about ? I have been hosting in HG as long as i can remember, no problems ever.

I have tried Hostwinds, Godaddy and a few more. I bailed GoDaddy as i didnt like it and for the lack of support. I left Hostwinds when it had the downtime issues. And the other 3-4 also for similar reason.
The only reason i use them is because i havent found any other NOOB FRIENDLY host out there.
Tell me one host, that has:

*The same uptime
*24/7 support
*Cpanel with all the features, easy installs, etc
*Rather low costs for unlimited domains

Because i haven't found one. But im waiting for someone to enlighten me.

Good! So true, I closed my Hostgator account. They are pure crap now.

i remember also making a post freaking out about that a while back lol

matsta, you need to accept that it's the ignorant leading the ignorant and just step back from it all. talking sense to them hasn't worked yet, especially when you consider the types of threads and posts around and on other forums.

i don't understand the lack of research these people put in. and then they complain because they're lost and nothing is working. it's almost too sad.

At last, something that makes sense. I wanted to see this one day.

Well, I was promoting 5 web hosting providers. I put my fav hosting on 1st place, Hostgator(HG) on second and 3 other next in the list.
After some day i got an email that if i will move the third hosting to number one, i can get better commission. The third one belongs to same company as HG --> EIG. So definitely I moved 3rd to number 1 as i know it belongs to same company.
You may be right for quality and support of HG, but they might be mailing some other guys to put HG on first place. Personally i dont think its a good marketing strategy. You can check any top 10 hosting list providers' website.
Anyway its good they provide the same quality and support.

I hate them because they asked for copies of my utility bill, ID and shit like that. What the **** for? It's just a damn hosting, not a 100k loan.

LOL Ive been with HG for monhts without them asking me sth like that. Or I must be missing sth.
