Blog's Advantage for a Regular Website

Hello everyone,

I'm about to build a new website and it has been ages since last time I built something other than wordpress blogs.

Thing is, I like wordpress for its built in SEO functions and the other multiple SEO plugins... also for the fact that it gets indexed and ranked much quicker... performs better in long term.

Now I have a nice template I want to use for my new site. I can't make it a blog, but at the same time would rather love to have the wordpress blog SEO features in it.

Would an updated blog feed, somewhere in the homepage of the new site, help in letting serps think the site is active and updated frequently?

Any other suggestions appreciated!

Why does WordPress have to be about blog building? I build a site or two a week and they aren't blogs but do run on the WordPress CMS.

That's what I'm looking for! Sorry, i'm not that techy, but can I make my site run on wordpress cms too?

Can this be easily added to sites using a flash or swish templates?

I've grabbed some templatem*onster.com templates and they all don't look so seo friendly.
