Avoid These 65 Slow Loading WordPress Plugins

You can choose to log all traffic or only security-related traffic on the Live Traffic View. I recommend logging only security-related traffic, which includes successful logins, login attempts and various types of blocked hits. All other traffic can be tracked via your GA website. Avoid bloat.
Many thanks. Just a small note that by default the setting is security only

Jetpack is packed with too many things. For a newbie WordPress admin it is probably useful to learn the basics as it has site downtime detection, visitor stats through a mobile app and so on. And all of this available in the free version. However you can replace it with a little learning about GA implementation.

Anyone recommend a jetpack stats alternative that requires no setting up like GA?

Which Plugin Is Slowing Down Your WordPress Website?

I’ve been using WordPress for a very long time and tested hundreds of WordPress plugins. Below is a list of slow loading plugins that will slow down your website.

Note that I have personally tested the below plugins and your experience with these plugins my differ from my personal results with the below plugins so feel free to let me know.

After getting rid of slow plugins on my blog. My blog now loads in under 2 seconds. The slow plugins like Contact Form 7 and Contextual Related Posts that I still use on my blog I use the Asset Clean Up plugin to trim the bloat and fat (unnecessary CSS/Javascript) from my site.

Hot Tip: Your website's speed and loading time will become a huge ranking factor in 2021 (Google said so themselves) so be sure to get your website ready when the Google algorithm hits in 2021.

So just imagine having keyword rich, SEO optimized pages along with a fast website = money in the bank! Anyways back to the slow plugins... that's why you are here right?

You can see below my blog's loading time from using the GTmetrix tool along with my Google Page Speed Insight scores for both Desk top and Mobile users. (Removing bloated plugins was a huge factor.)

1. My GTmetrix Page Speed/Y Slow Scores: 99%/93% and fully load of 1.2 seconds.

2. My Desktop Page Speed Insights Scores 100

3. My Mobile Page Speed Insights Scores 94

Oh yes before I forget to tell you I also use the WP Rocket plugin on my blog that has also helped me achieve those fast load times and scores with my blog.

(
Note: it's a premium/paid plugin no free version, but Autoptimze plugin is a great free alternative to WP Rocket if you're strapped for cash.)

What?! Jetpack is supposed to speed up my site. A youtube guy said that you can use it instead of DNS too! Omg! How can we replace Jetpack?

Thank you for this post because I will do something about my contact form but what on earth can be done about Jetpack?

Have you got SSL and DNS? Try Asset Clean Up. It is a tedious task but try removing each plugin that you have active and then check how it affects your loading time.
yeah... I have free SSL and CDN in Cloudflare that bitch causing the problem:(

No, the SSL and CDN will not cause a problem. You could try using Smush for making your website images smaller. Images can also slow your user experience.
Btw Bluehost provides free SSL and CDN. Some hosting providers make you pay extra just for an SSL free upgrade from Cloudflare. I did use Cloudflare, before I knew Bluehost was giving SSL and CDN free. I had no trouble with them.

There are so many factors that you will have to make a list for an order of elimination. Good luck.

I use Autoptimize and asset clean up. The free versions. My site loading speed improved almost immediately after activating them. Try the free versions and see how it works.

up in this thread yoast is marked as one of the plugin that slow down wordpress

So basically all the good plugins or 70% of the ones we all use are slowing us down but we have few alternatives if any. Thus is life, unfair always.
Please tell me if or when anyone comes up with an alternative to Yoast and Jetpack.:(:weep:

Thank you Hellis.
And if I need to have a slideshow with text and button (and simple animation), which plugin do you suggest?

@StefoGalbu sorry for just responding I'm just seeing this here some lightweight plugins that you can use for sliders and portfolios... Not that some of the best ones are premium plugins.

For Sliders:
  • Soiloquy (Premium)
  • Kreatura Slider (Premium)
  • Meteor Sliders ( Free but has not been tested with 3 major WordPress updates - use at your own risk )

For Portfolios:
  • Envira Gallery (Premium)
  • FooGallery ( Free )
  • The Grid (Premium)

You will need to do your research on each to see which best suits your needs. Hope this helps.

Anyone recommend a jetpack stats alternative that requires no setting up like GA?
@PVD2000 @AndyTraveler one of the best alternatives is using the actual GA website and Search Console but if having a plugin is a must then use Clicky this is a lightweight GA plugin best part it's free. Hope this helps.

@Misan Kumar if you're loading slow then you can use the free Autoptimize cache plugin or WP Rocket which is what I use but it is a paid plugin but does an awesome job with speeding up your website. Hope this helps.

I would add Google Fonts as well in a website's slow factors.

If you use WP-Rocket Cache plugin i think that you do not need to "host" any plugin for analytics. Am i correct?
Yes

i have tried Autoptimize, WP Rocket, W3 total cache, light speed cache, hummingbird, and many more. now am using Phastpress that's better than all of them but not too exciting. my site takes 4-5 to get load.
